I agree with Solomonwi... in the late game, where Tanks and MA can be used to generate an absurd number of MGLs.

    New term: Palace Hopping.

"You can never be too thin, too rich, or have enough MGLs."

The greatest delight for man is to inflict defeat on his enemies, to drive them before him, to see those dear to them with their faces bathed in tears, to bestride their horses, to crush in his arms their daughters and wives.

Duas uncias in puncta mortalis est.

I agree with #2 and #3, but not so sure about #1. I remember Karen Carpenter.

        2) Starve (or poprush) to 1pop, then let it repopulate.

        3) Have solid civ-wide culture yourself

Or better yet, wipe out the civ you took the city from.

HINT: if you face an opponent with a 1-tile island city (untouchable until marines), stop before you make that their last city, and demand it for peace. 20 turns later, wipe out the city you let them keep.

This is the prefered method, although wiping out the civilization you captured the city from does not entirely eliminate the possibliity of a flip. In C3C (and 1.22 patch) flips occur much less frequently due to the changes in the culture flip calculation. In addition to the above methods, having significant numbers of troops (50+) in the city significantly reduces the chance of a flip.
