is there a bug with modern armor?

I just lost 2 modern armor attacking 2 riflemen. A third MA was crippled and an enemy bowman finished him off. I mean, seriously, wtf?!

In my last game, I lost a veteran Destroyer to a regular Galley. Both were at full health when I attacked, but when the smoke cleared, my Destroyer was starting a new career as an underwater reef, while the Galley went merrily on its way with 1 HP left.

Battles are weird sometimes.

If you play long enough, you'll see an unfortified barbarian 1hp warrior on grassland defeat a full hp 4-MA army bonused by the Mil. Academy while playing chieftain.

Chalk it up to sucessful ambushing by lo-tech forces. Its rare in real life but does happen occasionally.

Have you personally seen this?

If this ever happens to me, I will burn all Civ3 CD's and manual and never ever think about playing again.

I doubt he's personally seen this, but if you play Chieftan often for years on end, I'm sure you _would_ see it. It's just slightly within the realm of possibility.

Yes that is homely, but ugly things will happen during combat. I also always thought FP should have been added to reduce these occurrences.

The designers wanted to have obsolete units still be some what effect and they are at times. You just roll with the punches.
