I have always been, and still am, a supporter of plain Civ3 and PtW. They were buggy too as they were released, but enjoyed a good developer/publisher support and were fixed over the time. This is not the case with the second expansion pack.
That said, you can compare me to whomever you want. Not that it would matter.

I just find it mindboggling... for all the complaints (be quiet SR ), I think we'd all acknowledge that Civ3 and its add-ons represent a heckuva bit of code, and an awful lot of entertainment in terms of ROI.
Five bucks. Sheesh.
I live in NYC... a friggin' falafel costs almost that much!!The greatest delight for man is to inflict defeat on his enemies, to drive them before him, to see those dear to them with their faces bathed in tears, to bestride their horses, to crush in his arms their daughters and wives.

Hi All:
I still drop by the forums once or twice a month but rarely have anything to say since the days of Civ3. I watched the development of the expansion pack, etc., and was left uninspired. Perhaps Civ4 will be a respectable product, but only if Sid decides to get truly involved.
My take is that Sid has been busy on Pirates 2 and left Civ4 to the rookies. Approach Civ 4 with caution. ...but run out and buy Pirates 2!

Hi yin! I've never played Pirates! 1, but we'll see. Civ4 is made with Soren as lead developer, and if you haven't read his Powerpoint presentation yet, I recommend you to do so. It's interesting as I see it. Good to see you btw, you're sort of one of the original "Mr. Apolyton"s I remember good from my early time here.Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God.-Isaiah 41:10
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made - Psalms 139.14a
