I was able to use the one you post for 2026. This one gets a datio errorATE, what ever that means.
Are you using C3C or Civ or PTW? If C3C I am not sure what the patch impact is, but you should DL 1.22 is you are using it.
Try to save the game again and resend it.

Okay, I'm running into a little bit of a problem here
I downloaded the patch and now everything is all screwey. On the menu when you load the game, it has the option Barricade, then Build Barricade is just below it, then below that is Play Last World. However, there is no Exit at the bottom and clicking on Load Game brought up the Hall of Fame Screen, and it totally screwed up. I clicked next and it brought me the set up screen, on which the letters were overlapping, obviously a graphical error.
Now I know this isn't normal.
Let me try loading up the game again. If that doesn't work should I just reinstall it?I always hear about the innocent bystanders. Where are all of the guilty ones? -Vince278

Okay, ya something so messed up. All the buttons do the same thing, like the top one, that says BARRICADE, still loads Play Last World, but in the world setup screen there are words out of place everywhere, just wrong in every way.

I didn't get any patch in the e-mail. I tried to download it off civfanatics, but now it's all screwed up like this
I'll reinstall the game and see what that does. If that doesn't work I'll just take off the patch. Well, if I get it going I'll either mail it to ya or I'll post it up here, if the attachemnt thing works by that time.I always hear about the innocent bystanders. You can get the patch from Firaxis. IIRC the last 1.22 patch is all inclusive. That is, it does not require any other patches. The early 1.22 required 1.20.
So if you had patches applied, things could become dicey. I would get the 4/2004 1.22 patch. If you are on XP backoff all patches and then apply 1.22.
If not on XP, I would uninstall it all. Check my registry for artifacts and then reinstall. A complete reinstall, starting with CivIII. Then C3C and apply no patches until C3C was installed and then only the current 1.22 fix.
Hope that works out.

You know I like to see players get up and running and stomping the game. I got it from the old Might and Magic boards. People running into points in the game that got them stuck and here many of us knew how to deal with the problem, so why not help out?
It is hateful to get to a point that you cannot proceed and you know you are missing something simple. You want the resolution right then, but no one is there to give it.
That experience is what makes me post what I can, as many times as it is useful.

Okay...the patch totally screwed up the game...I uninstalled it but it won't reinstall...I made a thread in the help section a while ago but no one's responded...any help would be appreciated.I always hear about the innocent bystanders. Where are all of the guilty ones? -Vince278

I posted something, but it is hard to tell with install issues, especally when the operating system and configuration is not given.
In the main, two issues come into play. One is to insure that no incompatible languages for game and patches are involved.
The other is to do a complete uninstall. This often means cleaning out registry entries, especially in Win98.
I also have heard of problems with bootlegged copies, but not in some time.
Good Luck and it is never a bad idea to send in a report to Atari. They may have a known issue.
