I run at 3ghz and 512mb of Ram and it runs fine. Of course I only have PTW so I don't get to have as many civs going on my huge maps. At one point I did bring my clock back down to 2.6Ghz and there was a NOTICEABLE difference in the time it took for not just the AI to think, but for the game to re-figure traderoutes everytime I destroyed a road or city.
NOTE: I am not useing a old P4, I am useing the very latest(excluding prescott E-core) , the C-core, with Hyperthreading enabled.
THis game really is processor intensive. Ram-wise it is not, of course its nice to WISH and HOPEFULLY think that way, since Ram is so much easier to upgrade...
If you guys wanted, I could bring this game into the shop and test the **** out of it to trully see. My friend, has his P4 clocked at around 3.6Ghz and is running a gig of ram, and Raid 0 Raptor hardrives. On -that- machine..there is -no- lag.
