Yes, you can select custom map and set the size to any up to 362 x 362 and then select generate map. It takes about 2 minutes though.

Too bad the game gets bogged down in a hurry. I'd love to be able to play a maxed out epic game. Does anyone know if thats even possible with current hardware?

250x250 with 24 civs is the largest I ever played to the end. I doubt a larger map would make a great deal of difference.

You have a city limit that will be reached. If you do not have too much water and civs get trimmed down, it should be playable.

              Any 3GH system should work.

I'm trying one thats a arch. with 80% water and 31 civs. I'm in 500AD and its getting bogged down (about 5 minute turns).

Well, I just wonder what kind of PC can run this thing, I have an AthlonXP 3200+, 1GB PC3200 box, will it be ok? Has anyone actually tried such big map?

You have no idea. I also slowed tech to a crawl, increased production, and conquest only victory.

I just made one with max water on Sid to see how it would go and so far it is not different than any other maps size.

I am not, but the AI has map maping and someone cranked out the lighthouse.

Oh the joys of half price builds. It will get worse, but I am only comparing it to other huge games, not std maps.

Still not much different. Looks like the AI is in the middle ages as I am getting uprisings now. I sure do hate figting barbs with warriors on sid.

Lost two elites to just plain conscripted horsemen. My guys were forted. Lost out on the free tech and the GLIB, so it will not be a lot of fun.

Circumnavigated my island and no one else is there. They would have shown up by now if so anyway. It is a very large island, but on a 320x320 that is what I would expect.

Not sure how much longer I will go at it as there is just too much land to fill. If anyone is near me they will be able to get some as it is more than I can stomach.

All my curraghs sunk and at 2 moves, it is too painful to launch any more. I will have to wait for gallies or visitors, which ever comes fist.

You see the island seems small, but it is only in reference to the whole map. Ihave 15 cities, not tightly packed either and a number of settlers ready.
