Screwing around with Korea, something occurred to me.

New players: Do you see it? This game is already won.

    Vets: The lesson?

The greatest delight for man is to inflict defeat on his enemies, to drive them before him, to see those dear to them with their faces bathed in tears, to bestride their horses, to crush in his arms their daughters and wives.

by not REXing, you could biuld all the early temples, so they keep on doubling in value. Clever

You seem to have a single ring of cities around your capital (couple exceptions). Feudalism + a few small cities at the start of the war + a big army + new small cities from conquest = victory?

There seems to be a lot of warmongering going on from what I can tell.

If there is a runaway leader in the game, then it would be much harder to get the cultural victory.

Yes, and counting on a cultural victory from so few cities is very very risky at best.

single city. 20k culture is not impossible, since you are not REXing, you can build more wonders.

There's no indication of that in the screenshot though. If that's the "lesson" it's not a very good one.

Damn... that was a bunch of fast responses!

And, nope, none of you is thinking what I am thinking.

Sorry, didn't give some crucial background: Deity.

                        No REXing... Diety...

Could it be that the AI had all the sites by the time you could build your second Settler?

I don't think it has much to do with culture.

The game is won, but it's won because the empire is as big as it needs to be (or almost), the land is fully improved, the empire is defensible, and human micromanagement, tech trading, and late game skills will allow him to win in virtually any manner he chooses. With an empire of sufficient size (enough for an FP + a bit more) the game is in hand unless there's a real anomaly of an AI that challenges in a funny way.

If that's it then it's definitely a trick question.

one last guess. The reason it is won is that you have played on and won, and this is from about a week ago.

And when will you tell us the answer? in a week
