    Thanks for the info!

It seems I have a lot of catching up to do.

Makes you wish there were some sort of book that you could buy that would cover all the details, I'd buy it.

Heh. It's tough to keep track, especially with all the patches.

I know my list is weighted towards changes from PTW to Conquests... since I struggle to remember when PTW was new.

For instance, Radar Towers. They weren't in CivIII vanilla, where they? They are built with workers (using up the worker) and provide a 25% combat bonus to any unit of yours within a 2 tile radius.

SAMs - air defense for cities (another PTW addition, IIRC)

Flak - air defense units (new to Conquests)

Lethal Bombard: Bombers can actually destroy units now, and Ships w/bombard can sink other ships via bombardment (but cannot destroy land units). Conquests change.

        I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff.

Man, those are some of the things I've wanted most in a game.

For instance, suppose I build a squadron of F-15 Fighter Jets as the Americans. How hard would it be to wipe out a few musketmen in a neighboring territory?

I remember playing a while back, with some sort of bomber, and I thought to myself "how stupid is this, that a bomber cannot kill a spearmen?"

It got really tedius trying to bomb every unit, only to have to go in with Mech infantry to finish them off.

Same goes with ships, of course. I once played a game where I had about 20 battleships. I couldn't just bobard the heck out of the enemy and sink it, now that was rediculus. Though I do wish I could kill land units with naval units. Of course there was that island in the south pacific we bombed for days, only to send all our marines ashore and find out they were in tunnels.

          Thanks again,
          Dan O.

A better idea would be to use one F-15 (B:6, IIRC) to spot the musketmen, then use bombers (B:12) to bomb them. The chance of doing damage will be twice as high. Bombard works just like combat, but without defense bonuses. IOW, if I'm right about F-15 being B:6, then chance of doing damage with each run would be 6/(6+4), or 60%. With bombers, the chance would be 12/(12+4), or 75%. Both have an ROF of 3.

Hum, isn't one of F-15 UUs advantage over the standard Jet Fighter a lethal bombardment ability? (The major one is increased bombardment power)

(I haven't played Americans since I've gotten Conquests)
