Ah, but I had three since before my Granary. That's just under 50% more Worker-turns than you. Plus, my cities are spaced closer together, so it's easier for each to be connected and share improved tiles as neccessary.

        Goethe80,

Try to play my latest game on my Emperor thread. You won't get a better opportunity to use (and abuse) your Berserkers...

Berserks ROCK!! Thanks for covering for me, Solomonwi.

And yes, they are even better in Armies. Just don't mix'em with Marines.

I just played my first game as the Scandanavians and the Beserk units are awesome. I usually don't play very militaristic, but these guys demand it. My best use of the Beserkers was to smash coastal cities into rubble. The Byzantines where in first place for the longest time, but then there was this accident. 24 Beserkers landed on their capitol and burned it to the ground. The Beserk Armies were really the key to flattening the Byzantines. A couple of great Wonders were lost in the fire, but the Byzantines slipped into 3rd place and I moved into 1st place, so it was worth it. I reprimanded my troops for burning the place down, but I don't think they understood because Dehli suffered from a similar accident. I'll talk to my men latter and see what the problem is.

Joe, I found that the Berserks are really incorrigible when it comes to such behavior. In fact, it was so pervasive in my troops that even when my Berserks were all old and retired, my Marines kept the spirit alive by laughingly frolicking in the ruins of several foreign cities. It's hopeless to try to stop them.

Before this turns into a spam/dead thread, I have another start for you.

It's not a true pump, but you might like to laugh at the surroundings

standard, 70% water, middle settings throughout. But I don't know about barbs.

And it is a good starting position, trust me on that.

Have you already founded the town for us on the starting spot? When I load the file the first town is already there, and the goody hut seems to have given us maps of the region

                            Hey Krill,
I've opened up the file and founded the city, but have not gone further than that. No magic 5fpt here, but I've never seen so many 2f2s tiles altogether! Should be interesting for a good set of intital 3-4 cities.

My exams are coming up soon, and I'm seriously bogged down by my books, but all those forests and 2/2 tiles looks tempting for a quick quick archer rush As and when I get to put in some play time of course.

I'm playing Demigod with Vikings. I have mastered Emperor and after several failed attempts to win at Demigod on Pangea and Continents world, I'm doing archipalego with 80% water.

Germans were on my small island. Unfortunately for them, I got an an iron resource and they did not. Now the island is mine.

Thanks to the Great Library (Why does the AI research Literature last?), I quickly reached the point where I can build Berserks. Gl expired, so, having just stolen Astronomy, I can send my Berserks across the sea to destroy cities.

Question: Should I plan to send several caravels holding only two Berserks each so that I can possibly get a Leader when attacking from the ship -or- should I fill as many berserks as possible on these ships to do maximum damage before the enemy is able to recover?

random observation - Once you rearch MapMaking and can build galleys which can only travel on coast squares - your chances of ending your turn succesfully on sea squares are greatly increased IF you only have ONE active galley in the game. If you already have an active galley somewhere and try end the turn of a second one on sea square - it will almost always crash. If you only have one active galley - it will almost always be safe.

random answer....get to philosophy and choose MM as your free tech, then build the Great Lighthouse and stop worrying about sea squares. Vikings + Great Lighthouse = what year do I take over the world?
