It comes from the system of armor/attack in Civ3, helicopters are supposed to be godsend against ground.

Maybe they should add some armor/attack types.

to bad you can't Rebase helo's onto carriers (unless i'm missing something), but that would be the bomb!

the problem seems to be with not being able to load units that can 'load' units into another unit that can load units.

But obviously the game can handle it -> see armies & transports.

Ya think jesse would fix/add that if we asked him? anybody got a direct line to him?

Theseus posted a screenie where the AI landed a chopter near one of his cities. I forgot what they off loaded, but it was a strange sight.

Helos, or any other unit that has a cargo capacity > 1, cannot be loaded onto any unit. The sole exceptions are units with the "army" flag. Paratroopers, being ground units, cannot be loaded onto Carriers, and even if they could (if the Carrier carried ground units instead of air) it couldn't paradrop from the Carrier. Paratroopers can only paradrop from cities and IIRC airbases.

Ah yes it was bowman. It was very strange. Having tech for a helo and still having a bowman.

Not that strange. On my 'Emperor' thread, the one before C3C, you can see a battleship escorting a galley...

Not necessarily - if you haven't had your GA yet, you can still build your UU.

You can build your UU until you can build a unit it upgrades to. In this case the Babs obviously never upgraded this unit (to longbowman or guerrilla).

Actually, that's not true - you can continue to build your UU and the unit it upgrades to, until you have your GA.

I don't think we are talking about the same game here.
