how well do the other things work? like "emphasize production"?

That's the only one I use, but mainly for city growth, to put it more clear, for when a city grows.
You will get the shields from a "newborn" labourer, but not the food or gold, thus the governer putting it on a unroaded, unmined mountain is more lucrative the on fish for example.
    Hey, sometimes every shield counts
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

The governor does do well at managing citizen's moods during anarchy. That's the only time I use them. Probably shouldn't even use them then but it's a good lazy way out. After the new gov. is installed you just turn off the governor and fire the clowns.

I suspect you coudl start one, I am not sure what the point of it would be, if you do not know another form of government.
You would just get X turns of anarchy for nothing.

            No, you CAN'T.

Try it with a new game; the Domestic Advisor states that 'We can't start a revolution until we discover different forms of government'.

              It's a bit of a moot point.

Going into anarchy for a revolution to democracy
No one in their right mind would be that late in the game without some form of govt other than Despotism.

There's alot of this I don't understand. Number one why are you only in Despotism and you have not researched any government technology that late in the game? Number two I thought you could only have a revolution if you had a government to choose from?

Most of the forms of governament are optional, so you can skip them and get to the next age. Not that I would recommend skipping all of them.

Tacit_exit: Clearly you are right. You can't go to revolution unless you have researched one gov't past depotism. I guess I never tried to start a revolution without another gov't researched.

P.S. I did an image showing this, but couldn't figure out how to paste the graphic in the message. yes, I read vB Code help. yes, I still need help.

Shogun Gunner if you use quick reply, you won;t be able to add an image.
If you use the post reply, tou will see a browse button. Use it to point to the image you want to psot. It requires that it have certain filetype and be under 500K (IIRC). This is best done with a JPEG file.
