I've no problems with the install on winXP. It is possible that your download has been corrupted.

        • There is a bug with the loading of vanilla civ3 saves. Try patching to 1.29f

              • Sounds like an error with the language file.
Have you used the full install?

                  • Oh and just for your info this thread always has the latest version. as long as Poly is up when I'm updating the file.

Better luck spaming a thread that a moderator isn't originator of. (But don't dare to try)

                    • Problem with Adding Units

I'm trying to add Units to a PBEM style save file, that I'm currently working on, for testing purposes. The unit gets added but, if I try to click on it, the game crashes.

I've tryed several different things, like adding it with no movement left and then going to the next turn, where it now shows available movement, but the game still crashes when I click on it.

I had tryed this both with 1.9.1 and 1.10 versions. PTW 1.27f, Win98se. I'll send you the file if you want, but won't post it (as this is for one of my private games). PM me or send me e-mail at et_civNOSPAMATrockbanditNOSPAMDOTnet.

                      • Custom batch file - Wishfull??

Gramphos as you know I've done a scenario that needs the player to change the MV rate of units in the game. Which I was planning to get them to download the editor to do it manually.

Is it possible without a lot of trouble to create a file that would automatically change the fields as a preset program ie its only 2 items changing the MV from 3 to 1 for 2 units.

ie I was hoping you could create a small executable script that would do it just by prompting the player to select the save game name.

I have enclosed a save file as an example
                        Attached Files

                        • In theory there is no problem implementing batch functions, however there is one problem: I don't have the time. Is it the embeded rules you wantto have modified?

What do you mean by embeded rules? What i'm doing with the save game editor is loading the save game and changing the base MV rate for all of a unit type ie Whermarct (early war) and romanians once only in Dec 1941

                            • Gramphos, I have only now got around to loading 1.10. How wonderful this work of yours!!!

Especially nice when I converted one of my favorite maps from CIV II.

Maybe I missed it, but can you turn the debug on and off of a 'saved game'? This would greatly assist testing.

Changing unit stats <=> editing the biq embeded (or embeding edited default rules if no rules were embeded from scratch)

This is probably quite easy to automate. However, it will not get a very high priority as it stands.
