  • As my final play (except AU101) in PTW, you’re welcome to my: PIC FESTIVAL of Sir Ralph’s game (Emperor, huge map, 24 civs, Germany).

3000BC (more or less): the game started badly. Even before I discovered the Carthaginians land, I encountered 2 warriors heading towards my capital. Well, my peaceful rexxing found its early end.

1990BC: unless Carthage, Utica did not fall after all (protected by 4 units) but lo!, a stroke of luck! (please remind that I am very bad at getting more GL than I have military units). That one would build the Pyramids for the glory of the German Reich. I chose IW for obvious reasons.

    • 1450BC: my military might was slowly building up, between bouts of rexxing. The English were expanding very fast and a bit too closely to the land of my future empire. Good news (?), the Celts and the Scandinavians are on my continent, luckily separated by the English.

      • 1200BC: a bit more of rexxing and now my military is ready to take out Carthage. Barbs cavalry is getting pesky…

        • 1000BC: Utica has fallen. The English built a second town near my borders and my workers are trying to connect my to ‘half-empires’.

          • 800BC: the end of the Northern Carthaginian Empire (they would respawn east of my lands). Another source of iron. The English are really starting to annoy me. I must prevent them from splitting my lands in two. I am researching Polytheism as a trading tech.

            • 590BC: a milestone: I have now 13 cities and I managed to block the English.

              • A family picture of my continent’s civs (+ America): this game will be interesting indeed… BTW, I am 3 techs behind now.

                  • 430BC: I managed to get hold of the ivory, but my empire is still split by the Deep Sands Desert. I am now 4 techs behind, but will get Polytheism in 3 turns. Nobody has it yet. Bismarck lights a candle…
A bit more of rexxing and then, well, we’ll see.

                    • 230BC: another milestone. I traded Polytheism for all my missing techs and lots of gold (with a 50-turns research, the AI hoards lots of gold, it seems).
I have now 21 cities, my rexxing is over.

                      • I will put my last city near the lake, marring thus the ethereal beauty of a perfect city ring… As you can see, Bismarck is in a very religious mood…

                          • 270AD: a long leap ahead. I entered the Middle Ages with Feudalism 25 turns away and 1’700 gold. Scandinavia made a small diplomatic mistake. I don’t like it, since its lands will be split between my most powerful enemies-in-being, but I am powerless at this point. I am at tech parity with the English: they have the Republic, I have Monotheism.

                              • 600AD: big military upgrade, now I’m broke. This is a new feeling for me. The German Empire has now the Pyramids, Hanging Gardens, Sistine on its way. England is at war with the Celts: excellent news!
