I can't get the TOT map editor to work with WinXP? This is the one that is like the original Map Editor that Microprose gave us... not the BMP to MAP... I don't really like those other ones. Does anyone else have problems using the TOT map editor with WIN XP?

There is no ToT map editor. You have to use the one from FW or MGE.

Do you mean MapEdit? You'll need to ask Mercator about that.

tech: no, not MapEdit. I tweaked the MGE map editor and put it up for download separately, so ToT-only users also have a map editor.
The only difference with the standard MGE editor is that is can also create gigamaps.
Have you tried one of those Win2k compatibility patches?
And, um, Eyn created his own version of it, since it didn't work with French ToT, maybe that'll work? Right, Eyn's site seems to be down.

um... I'm not sure. this?
Maybe you could try this... copy your ToT folder (without any of the subfolders), apply Cedric's ToT to MGE patch to it, and then delete all files its mapeditor doesn't need. The readme from my ToT mapeditor says which files it is you need: the game.txt, label.txt and 10 others (and not to forget civ2map.exe itself).
