Right, there isn't much differance visually, the A3 has a few more .... how do I say this? I will just say viewing apparatus. I might be confused on that though. I believe the A3 has FLIR sights and more periscopes for the commander to view the battle field. I might try it. At the risk of sounding like a broken record I was going to say ' I've done a Tornado already, but I don't want to post it just yet'. But that's lame so here it is:
BTW the first, darker one is an IDS which is OK for GR1 -GR4 ground attack version and is used by Britain, Germany and Italy; the lighter grey one with the long nose is an F3 interceptor used only by Britain.
When I was a wee engineering apprentice at Rolls-Royce I worked on an upgrade for the GR4 RB199 engines, so it has a kind of special place in my heart
