    • sharkeys....

They could be useful for an Oceanian scenario (or mod) like StefanHaertel's polynesian one (Lost Paradise,IIRC), or for a new scenario... 7 SURFERS civs who struggle (each other and against these sharks) for the control of a total-island continent and to rule the neverending ocean...(so 'romantic )...

Strike off the final one on my todo-list: the mortar.

With this the first Freeciv 2.0 draft is finally complete!

Many thanks to Fairline btw. His collection of civil war artillery provided the final piece of the puzzle.

            • Unit request...

Could someone please draw me a "horn" unit?

I want to use it as something akin to the one used to bring down the walls of Jericho!

I imagine something dark, and maybe "snake like"...

(it would be even more a task for him if I had written "fish like" instead of "snake like"... )

Be glad you didn't. In that case you would have probably gotten something like the horn of a Narwal. (horn+fish+sea=Narwal)

Maybe I will give it a go. You're looking for a horn the type modern hunters/brassbands use? Or one of those viking/LotR type ones?

                      • Thanks, the shark unit came out rather well but I've got a personal soft spot for the orca and the "zeeduivel".

                          Thanks!

It would be a medieval looking one! Or, even better, "S"shaped!

A Narwal horn would be too "straight" for this unit!

BTW: I agree: your "maritime" units look really good!

                          • Cyrion,

Here's my first attempt at a horn. I tried googling for possible images of the horn of Jericho first but I only ended up with massive amplifiers and loudspeakers! I guess those sort of horns are not the ones your looking for.

It looks a bit modern but a bit of pixel tweaking should take care of that. My 2nd design should be a bit more classic.

                            • Thanks CapTVK, it looks good!

To make it look less "modern" as you say, maybe having the "funnel" part silver instead of golden would do the trick??

But I'll wait for your 2nd design!

                              Thanks again for helping me!
