@fairline: s-o w-o-n-d-e-r-f-u-l !!!
Man, you're becoming quite 'boring'... and you're making us boring in writing how masterpieces you do always...
What could we say???
Keep on !!!
"Dilexi iustitiam, odivi iniquitatem, propterea morior in exilio" [PAPA GREGORIUS VII +1085] - ("He amado la justicia, he odiado la iniquidad, por eso muero en exilio") - ("I loved justice, I hated unfairness, that's why I die in exile") - (J'ai aimé la justice, j'ai détesté l'iniquité, c'est pourquoi je meurs en exil") - ("Ich liebte Gerechtigkeit und hasste Ungerechtigkeit, deshalb sterbe ich im Exil")
@Cyrion: waiting for Fairline 'lights', I could try to explain about "Burgundian archer", it was a guard corp, and the armament became separated by the name. Btw, IIRC, I saw a Burgundian Archer on the OOOOOLD civ2 site of Fiera... He made a good "Guardia Vieja" (mounted "Old Guard"), too.

Thanks gents. Gagliaudo got it right - the Burgundian Archers were a Habsburg Guard unit who presumably had been armed with a bow initially. The source pic I used was armed with a broad-bladed spear.
Cyrion - I guess you could use the Landsnechts as Swiss as they were dressed and armed in the same fashion by this time. In fact I think the Landsknechts were the Emperor Maximillian's answer to the French using Swiss pikemen in the early stages of the Italian Wars.
You're right ...and some Cent-Suisses and Archers Francais for the French. And maybe a Spahi for the Turks. However, I was thinking of trying my hand at Normans and Byzantines first

that's no coincidence since Swiss mercenaries ARE basically Landsknechte, Switzerland mainly being made up of southern Swabia and Landsknechte are predominantly Swabians.
again beautiful units BTW, and I have a suggestion for the third Landsknecht, he could have the huge Flamberge two-hander and the Gladius-like Katzbalger sword.
Yeah, it's Krüger from CDG I am quite amazed to see such quality units from this period, we are so used to seeing excellenct Industrial - Modern units from Mr Fairline but this is just revolutionary Keep up the good work Gareth
