Buying CivToT was the biggest mistake in my gaming life.
I found myself to have actually bought 3 replicas of a game identical to the one I already had (CivII), except for the edited graphics and items names...
I installed it, made a 30' tour thru it, uninstalled it and shelved it.
I should have seriously considered to resell it, but I'm too lazy.
You know something MariOne. I shelved this game after 6 months of playing it. I finally gave in to CIV2MPG and continued playing multiplayer with people because noone seemed to play TOT. But I still played for 6 months.

Take CIV3 into the formula. I bought it, installed it and enjoyed it for 2 weeks. Then things went haywire and bugs, shutdowns, and well everything else went wrong. And patches after made it worse.

Even though I bought three versions of the game, I'm still happy and got my moneys worth. If they added much more features and combine whats great from CIV3 into CIV2 TOT2 I would purchase it.
Yes thats right, I would purchase it. SEE THAT INFOGAMES.

    Anyways thats my 2 cents

Just for the record...if it wasn't for this site I wouldn't have spent $15 getting a copy of ToT, so I'll play around with it and see how I do.

I don't see how anyone can say that TOT is "just Civ2 with edited graphics". The multiple-worlds feature in the SF and Fantasy versions is a significant gameplay extra. It's been available at $10 for a long time now--a year or two, I think--and well worth it.

I'd like to see the TOT concept applied to Civ3.
"THE" plus "IRS" makes "THEIRS". Coincidence? I think not.

I found ToT as if it where made by a bunch of 16 years doing a school project

The graphics where REALLY bad and the units where just damn stupid oh and the fact they reused units from midgard to extended version to that future one

          lol BOMBUS springs to mind

oh and the sounds where really horrible and the music lol

I would probably play it over Civ3 though lol

i bought TOT only, never had bought a civ game before, so for me it was basically buying the original game (and i like the graphics) with the other stuff as a bonus. I agree the extended game was pretty bad, the sci-fi game was better, i spent several hours on it, but never did finish.

Ive taken a look again at the fantasy game, and am enjoying it.

I agree the strongest feature should have been the scen. potential, but not that many scens have been made for it. Most of the scens ive played have been FW or MGE ones Ive converted. Not how few updates recently to cradle of civ. I may go take a look again, based on tecumseh's comment.

I would like to see ToT scenarios adapted for Civ3. My favorite is the Science Fiction one. It is really cool to be able to switch to different worlds within the same game. The AI, though, never seems to colonize on the parallel worlds. That's the problem with Civ2 & ToT -- the AI was reallly lame. It wasn't long after I bought these games that I was routinely kicking the computer's butt on Diety level.

That's one of a few reasons why scenarios are so popular. Some of the designer's make a tough AI.

If even there you find the AI is too lame, try MP.

Sigh! We'd all like to see some decent scenario tools in Civ3.

I have a unit ripper for ToT and I bought ToT for its costomability, but never even tried since I fifgured there was no way to edit the way the units looked.

I am going to attmept to rip all the fantasy and sci-fi units

do you mean change the units in TOT. It can be done. Theres a spirit editor in the making or finished which can be used to edit the animations. I think.
You can use the old civ2 like unit graphics for the units without animation.
