Ioanes Schroeder, at a press conference met the allegations that Germany is now Britains 'lap dog'.
'These allegations will not go unchecked. Rather we will meet them head on. Germany has allied herself with her true friend because we CAN, and we WILL get along and cooperate for a common goal.

'These hateful slurs seem to be coming from France. She evendently wishes to divide Britain and Germany assunder, driven by her own hate to us Germans. People of Germany, do not fall into the lies!'

To France, if your so concerned, why not set up a triple alliance with Italy and Russia? (sure no ones playing Russia now, but hopefully they will) That'll make for an interesting game.

    Ioanes

      THE TIMES June 28th 1900

The Prime Minister Gary Smith today launched a scathing attack on the french reluctance to join the democratic alliance. He said they are either with us or against us. He proposed that seeing as the french didnt want peace they should go to hell. He said that for too long Britain under the misinformed leadership of the conservative government had "cuddled" up to the wrong empire.

He said that Germany were Englands true friends and that Ioanes Schroeder and him should meet soon to put into practice the points that Mr Smith had layed out from the beginning. He also proposed a rapid build up of the british armed forces because they were "woefully thin" all around the world. He also proposed joint strategy with the Navies of the two empires.

This editor thinks that Mr Smith is drumming up anti french feelings among the people of this fair nation and also sympathy for the german cause sandwiched as they are between the two unfriendly powers of France and Russia.

        Italian Headlines:

        Millitary Cup in Rome!
In a bold move earlier today Henriko Lohmandero and a few of our armies best officers deposed the hated Monarch Victor Immanuel our former king.
The king didn't put up any resistance and was quickly sent away to an unkown destination.
Later today the Pope Leo XIII crowned Henriko I the first emperor of the Italian empire.
Henriko who was priviously the Italian ambassador in London made a few official statements about what his reign would carry whit it for the people of Italy:
"Diplomats are being sent to France, Russia, Spain and the Ottoman Empire to help contain the obvious signs of expansionism from the Brittish and thier German lackeys, we can only hope that the wise French king realizes what the brittish are trying to do and that they will reach an agreement whit our diplomats."

"Industrialization will be rapid from now on, a nation must live in it's time and not in the past, Italy shall not become the new 'Sick man of Europe'!"

It seems change is upon us, and these will prove to be interesting times indeed.

        Editor of the Rome Tribune

And no, I have no Idea of how to spell Jiovany.
I probably got it wrong but you get the point

        Edit:
Silver wasn't a great colour for those quotes

"As the events of the last few days have proven peace is on a very fragile knifedge in europe. To this matter i have introduced a measure through the house of commons to expand the British Empires standing army and Navy. The rise of dictators and military coups cannot be allowed to continue. In Third World countries like Persia and Iraq this sort of behaviour continues but i never in my entire life thought that i would see it in europe."

Mr Smith talking about the success of the coup of the former italian ambassador to london Henriko and his rapid rise to power. In an embarrassing judgement which showed up Mr Smiths shock and inability to see things after the news he ordered the expulsion of the italian ambassador from london until he realised that it was that very same ambassador who had just been crowned Henriko I.
This follows the expulsion of the french and russian ambassadors 3 days ago because as Mr Smith put it "These nations oppose england and germany from taking their rightful places in the sun so what right have they to be here at all!!?"

As this editor puts it. "Not very diplomatic way of saying get lost!" It seems like war on the way and Mr Smith seems intent on getting britain caught up in it. Temperatures seem to be cooling throughout europe and i think this will become known as the "Cold War" as you could put it.
The Battle lines are drawn (i think)
The Empire Alliance: Britian and Germany
The Quintuple Entente: France, Russia, Italy, Turks, Spain
          Maybe

Well, since no human players are playing Russia or Ottoman yet, they can't be counted in any alliance, so thus far, two factions are arising.

              Anglo-Saxon Alliance aka Democratic Alliance

Franco-Italian Alliance aka The Coup Cooperation

                        Coming right up . . .

After I get it back from Gothmog. He is fixing a troubling problem and after I get it back from him I'll make a few small changes myself. Then I'll be happy to send everyone a copy of the newest version. It will be worth the wait, as the new version will be very close to finalization.

You're new around here Caspian, what's your story? Henrik--you know the rules; why didn't you first accuse him of being a dl?

I think we should try to get players for all nations, so that means that Russia and the Ottoman Empire are the ones left to get players for.

Henrik--you know the rules; why didn't you first accuse him of being a dl?

I think your right hendrik that we should wait for all players because if as we are saying germany and england are going to ally then everyone else needs to ally with each other to have a chance of stopping them.

As i sad i think i have a russian player lined up but hes going to get back to me withing 5 days

                              That's Henrik whitout a 'd'

I think "Hendrick" would be the german variant (and I'm Swedish).
