Need some help, friends. I decided after years of going without a good barbarian-slaying session to dust off my CivII discs and get her going on my new Acer laptop. I primarily only use the laptop while traveling, so since I'd rather not carry around the discs, I made a .nrg image using Nero 7, mounted using ImageDrive, and installed from there.
It plays beautifully, heralds/videos and all, except for one thing: No music. When I try to select a track, it says that there's no CD in the drive. I know it's not the image file, since Windows Media Player can find and play the music without a problem. OK, so the game must be looking in the empty physical drive rather than the mounted virtual one: Thing is, I can't figure out for the life of me how to fix it. Tried looking through the registry; only setting I could find (HKLM\Software\MicroProse Software\Civilization II Multiplayer Gold Edition\CD Path) was set to the virtual drive. Checked the civ.ini file; no WhereIsCD setting (and adding it with the proper path achieved nothing).
Any ideas, guys? I'm using MGE with Patch 3 installed.
