Man Ghost, you make my day. Thank you very much. Seems like wer'e getting Gareth Mark II here.

I am still busy at work, but at end september i will have some more time for my beloved project.

The stories my yugoslav Kollegas told me vary from amazing to sad.
One lost a friend to a mine. The next one received a headshot and is a little bit crazy at the moment. They described it as especially horrific how neighbours went to enemies over night, this was a big problem especially in bosnia.
One bosnian Kollega from sarajevo told me, that before the war there also was no great interest in religion. Muslims ate pig and drank beer like everyone else. but now he says, the city changes.
Many arabic volunteers settle in bosnia, and Sarajevo has a boom of mosquees. A development he views with concern as the "New Muslims" don't drink beer like himself.

I think the islamic aspect will receive some attention in my development.

    So long...

Just a quick update on the map progress. I have been busy over the past week or so getting 'A Soaring Spirit' finished. I started working on this map again today. So far I have got two of the horizontal lines done which leaves twelve to go. It is a tedious task but once it is completed the map will be finished. I think I will need to push myself to get past halfway. Once there I will have the finish line in sight and the task won't seem so tough

Eight down. Six to go. Hopefully it will be ready some time next week. Hope that's OK Hans!

EDIT: When looking at the map up close up (top half) you cannot see the grid at all. I just noticed that from a zoomed out view the patterns of the forests are still quite linear. I will try and blend this out so that there will be no trace of the grid left

That's really great McMonkey, you can clearly see the Vojivodina on this map.
              Can't wait till next week

                One question:

I once had a chart where the city size was corresponding to their real life population. E.g. City size 1 stands for 10 000, size 2 for 15 000 etc...

Where can i find this chart now ?

I had a very quiet evening at work and decided to make a concerted effort to complete the map in one go. I'm happy to say it is ready I'm really pleased with the result and I hope it works well for your scenario!

I have included the terrain I used, the Map and a save file with all the cities mapped out. There were a few cities which I could not read the names for (my map ended up being a little worn out!) but I'm sure you can work them out.

As it is a very hilly map with lots of valleys I'm sure you can work out where the roads run. If you have any problems send me your save game (once you have started one) and I can add roads.

Good luck with the scenario Hans!

Man, i am impressed. Really great work. Lets get this thing started.

As for the city names, i will stick to their ethnic pronouncation i think. But it won't be a great prob i think.

Cool. I included the save game to help you pinpoint city locations. Feel free to do whatever you want to the map now. I was thinking that this map would be ideal for a scenario about Tito's Partisans but I certainly don't have time to start anything else right now

EDIT: I just had a thought (it happens!). If you wanted to use the save for your scenario so that you don't have to place the cities again I set it to Deity level, Villages only, don't restart eliminated players.

All of that can be changed with various external tweaking programs (IE Civtweak, Civcity etc.)

Been busy making fine adjustment of the map and working with the events and rules of ToT ( Hell, i am used to MGE but this ToT flags still give me creeps and the ToT Rules also baffle me, so much choices... ), but it slowly comes just the way i want.

Going to finish the map finework the next weeks ( If time allows ) and looking forward for a first playtest to the community, but it is still hell of a work.

To keep you guys hungry, a little screenie of the infamous battle of Vukovar which occured August 1991, and yeah, it are Nemo style houses :P

Finished fine work on the map terrain and city placement ( Damn 255 City limit ). Now i am going for the roads and the city buildings.

But i stumpled over a problem i cannot solve. I changed the cities.bmp a few times and now my city flag position seems fixed in the .sav game.
It will change it's X Position when i edit the cities.bmp. Y Position stays locked.

The defenders of Sarajevo hide the flag in the pampa

I know that there is a problem with ToT .Sav files and that many things get hardcoded to it and i also know that there once was a discussion about the graphic formats hardcoded in the .Sav but i do not find it. Where is it ?

Can anyone give me a helping hand on this problem as it drives me mad ?

Have you tried replacing the scen CITIES file with the vanilla file from TOT? If the vanilla one is fine, then the problem is in the scen CITIES file. If not, then you have a real headscratcher that might need a hexeditor to locate the difference(s) in the two saves.

I'm coming on board waaay too late to be useful here, it seems, but could you somehow start the game in TOT's extended game mode to take advantage of the eight-civ option there? I don't know TOT that well, since I haven't had it for more than like six months...this is mostly a theoretical question at this point, I know.

Also, for the thing about refugees, an idea I had some time ago (for a Star Wars scenario that evanesced) was to make "escape pods" in place of partisans. No attack, little defense, but a substantial shield cost so that if you got them to another city you could disband them for a big boost to production. Substitute refugees for pissed-off people driven out of their homes and joining the local militia in a hurry once they find shelter? I don't know the Balkan situation, just thought I'd throw it out there. Or you could make them settlers, provided all the good city spots as the AI defines them are taken.
