I have removed ALL text files (Rules/EventsGame/Labels) from the scenario folder, and still the crash happens!

I am wondering if this is actually a CIV2.exe corruption?

I wonder now if my SAV file is corrupt, as my earlier saves are OK, and only when
my German 1947 game had vast amounts of money and population did problems occur...

I had used a different CIV2.EXE, one recommended by Catfish to reduce CPU usage, and
the crash still happened - This was with NO text files of any kind in the folder...
I can only assume that this bug was borne from unusual game circumstances...

Pretty weird...Perhaps I should replace any DLL files in the game directory?

        Long Shot

        Are you using a modified Menu.txt (@Orders)?

You removed the text files . . . and it still crashed. I've caught the labels file using that method. The problem was the little number at the top. You might check some of your other files to see if there are any number discrepancies at the top of the file.

Did you try removing the graphix files in the same way? one by one?

I don´t think that it is anything with the graphic DLL files. When I changed them first time for my AWI scenario, the game crashed because I didn´t use the original CIV2 colour palette. During the crash, there was no message. The game only crashed and got back to the desktop. If you are using the wrong sounds, the game only shows a message "this file isn´t compatible with CIV2..." without any crash.

If the CIV2.exe damaged, the game won´t start. I think it is something with the text files wrong. Maybe the save file has a damage.

I had only the GFX files in the folder when the crash was
happening...And the GFX files were all derived from file
versions I have used for years without mis-hap...Not
              sure what the problem was...

Started a new game, and not troubles as yet.
