Bloody hell! You weren't kidding about the enemy units!

A true stack-fest of doom! A rare sight to see so much AI
armour aligned against the player at the late game stage.

        'Target Rich Environment' - !

I hope you can see it through to the end...
You have fought excellently so far!

I finished my game. My god, wat a struggle this one was. Without my DDay support, I consolidated my eastern frontline and captured western europe and Italy first. In the end I managed to get as far east as brest litovsk.

The battles were epic. The casualty list at the end of the game is staggering. Over 750 german fighters and bombers, more than 400 tank units and countless other units. Against the loss of about 160 tanks, 75 fighters and 55 bombers (plus 77 AA).
The air attacks were killing. Some turns I had to endure over 30 enemy planes attacking. So the p51 is a must have unit!
It was a challenge to fight the odds and slowly turn the tide. In the end the allied troops outnumbered the axis troops two to one. But my goal of reaching Moscow was impossible.

So this one is a great step forward compared to the previous versions of the game. To try and defeat the damn cheating German AI is not easy. I fear for the challenge of playing the Russians.

          Some final remarks:
-I still think the Wolverine is not a good replacement for the Sexton/M7 Priest. The Wolverine was a, fairly unpopular tank hunter, not a mobile artillery unit. Plus the attacking stats of the Hellcat seem to be lower than the Wolverine, so I never upgraded my research to Mobile arty III.
-No idea if and how it's possible, but a (slightly) stronger Russia would be fun. Some extra challenge to capture as much of germany before the russians do it.
-The p47 could maybe use a bit more attacking power. It's more or less useless against tanks. So maybe an extra attackbonus against armour?

            Congrats, buddy!
That was a battle to end all battles!
Seems I have finally created the monster AI resistance I had
always dreamed about...And I will certainly add those edits!

I will look into replacing the Wolverine with the old priest, as
it was widely used on the Allied side, the Hellcat perhaps
needs an extra stats incentive to make it worth buidling...

And I will beef up the P47 too - It should be a tank
killer on par with the Do-335 bomber...Only cheaper...!

Glad you had such a memorable battle and I hope my
scenario gave you a few hours of fun! Soon I will get
            this thing complete...!

In the meantime I have another WW2 adventure for release!

The pleasure was all mine! I think this one is a challenge for all players. You really need to use all sorts of units, more defensive ones.

And what is this new scenario???

Been played some more, basically took all of Germany save East Prussia. The Reich still holds most of Poland and, well, 99% of Russia (but why won't it take Baku so I can unleash the Mideast army?) so I've got some work cut out for me.

The AI seems to love those Panzer IVs and Waffen SS, doesn't it?

                  Thanks, guys!

The AI love those Panzers, but the player grows to loathe them!

                    So what's the new scenario?

The new scenario is The Eurasian Wars.

"Finished" the game, as it were, in about Dec 1945, as that's when the events file is supposed to give the endgame message, I believe (I think I had some problems with events files and such, but still...)

Well, as I said before, the Nazi AI managed to conquer Moscow, Leningrad and Stalingrad, and I was able to liberate all three from the Germans. I renamed Leningrad, reverting to its original name of St. Petersburg, and I think I should have called Stalin's city "Volgograd" or something. The Russians, strangely enough, were able to hold out that northernmost city (Murmansk? my memory escapes me at the moment) against numerous Finn assaults, and the Nazis never were able to get to Baku (they did, however, capture a city south of the Caucasus, ensuing that some of those Arab armor units in Tabriz could be put to good use. )

I also managed to liberate Norway, thanks to a number of amphibious landings as well as an instance where I used the "river" on the coastline to move Hellcats (the ubiquitous unit of my Allied army, which I produced in mass quantities once I found out they could destroy most of those nasty SS unit stacks) from one northern Norwegian city to another.

This is probably the longest WWII game I have played on Civ 2, turn-per-game speaking; however, I've never gotten as far east playing the Allies in any other WWII scenario involving Europe. There the nefarious "SS stack" problem (there were a few of them still in Western Europe even when the front lines had moved much farther to the east) but, other than that, it's excellent.

                        Great work, Ghost!

Glad you enjoyed the scenario - Even with the infamous SS stacks of doom...!

My next trick is to take into consideration the suggestions
by PietH, and your experiences and go for a final version..!

Also to get the Readme finished at last!
