Installed the ACW files working. Must have forgotten to install something the first couple of times. It looks ace!
I have devised a system for organizing all of the various files. I have downloaded everything I may need and unzipped them into a PeG folder with sub folders for gamesets, equipment files etc... This way if I accidentally overwrite something or need to re-install the game all the files are there.
I could not locate the sounds for the ACW game. Also I am having problems getting the WWI campaigns to run which is strange as I managed it before (have reinstalled everything since).

I think I have got most things sussed out now but I am still having problems with the WWI scenarios. I have followed the read me instructions but when I run the WWI exe there are no campaigns showing. When I run the Eastern Front exe the campaigns show up but the flagsets and units are wrong. Any ideas about what I am doing wrong?
Also the Romanian campaign download actually seems to be the German Reich Defence campaign. The Romanian campaign does not show up in the campaign list. I will look elsewhere to see if this was just a bad link and the correct files can be found on a different site.Comment

No mention of that in the installation instructions. Sure I will figure it out at some point though.
Slight problem with the .dat file I'm afraid. Received it OK, thanks. Installed it and the game won't load up, just closes down straight away when it tried to load. I put the backed up original file back in the main folder but the game still won't load
On the plus side I can reacquaint myself with my wife who has become a Panzer General Widow for the past week or so.
I will try reinstalling the game with the new .dat file and see how that goes. Seems strange that the game won't run with the original. If the new .dat file was corrupt in some way the original file should fix it

For anyone interested, PeG-ACW is now complete and a self-contained installer exe with all necessary files (including maps) is available to download from Robert Mary's site and this thread at JP's Panzer General forum (link is close to the bottom of the thread:
It's a one-click installation, so no need to faff with a load of files

I really recommend getting PeG-WW2 instead. The installer DL works fine and it's a one-click installation. Better gfx and engine than PG2 (analogous to mge vs ToT)Comment
