I think the game was good to go once the bribing issue is resolved. Have not had time to play again (and win hopefully) just yet but I fully intend to when the final version is released!
There have been major changes, but I still don't have a completed playtest report on the revised version. I need that before I will release a final version.
Nice to hear from you our_man. How's Med School going?

Hi tech, thanks for asking. Alright I guess - I haven't been flunked out so that's a good sign. Into my 4th year now, so seeing a lot more clinical stuff, and occasionally getting to try some things out as well. Ripping out varicose veins in theatre was a particular favourite! Each field has its highs and lows, so it's going to be tough to sit down and choose one at the crunch. I'm currently doing surgery, and very glad I wasn't on receiving for the Celtic-Rangers game!
Sadly, all of this has reduced my Civ 2 time. That, and I picked up Civilization 3, which was diverting but failed to capture my interest the way Civ 2 did. The combat system in Civ 3 really wound me up the wrong way (armour losing to riflemen on plains!?) and the shortage of finished, decent, fan-based mods means it only gets an occasional spin now. Hence, I've become a bit of a lurker, popping in every month or so to keep abreast of anything new. The reasons I've been checking back recently are primarily to play this one (loved the first version to bits, but didn't play very realistically - sold all my libraries/courthouses to rush-build trains) and Sarsstock's Star Wars scenario (which is looking pretty dead in the water).

On surgical receiving all last week, so only had a chance to look at it now. I am also experiencing the Commisar problem; they appear not to be able to bribe anything (I used cheat mode to check this out after no message came up with them when I tried to enter some White cities). Shall I play on sans commisar, or wait?

Commissars should be able to bribe White, Japanese and Central Powers cities, but not Entente, Polish or Nationalist ones, as these should now be democracies. Some units are also unbribable, regardless of which civ.
Play on Politburo. Thanks.

Ending turn 2. Correction on my part: White units are bribeable (at least White deserters, their only military unit I've come across out in the open). White cities are still unbribeable however.
