    Jerec,

Honestly, I don't see why not. Except that it's totally contrary to the pseudo-scientific bent that I was going for. I kinda want to try it though. Would you guys be open to a special, compromise, maybe event triggered map, something for fun?

I strongly recommend sticking with the 'serious' ant game though, ants are cool: they fight wars, build cities, depose queens, enslave, farm... they civ man, all on their own.

To your above, the long game goes pretty quick, there is a lot of tech stealing, and the AI rips through the game on the large map. Of course I've been playing for a while, so I can finish a game in a couple of nights.

(spoiler): exploration is key. lot of barb huts, hit them with some movement left so you can get out of the way.

Both sea and air units are limited, two of each. At the time, the river was just an interesting border, and ants are basically masters of the other elements (earth, rock and tree); although last night I learned about gliding ants...

    (for example)

so with the new unit slots, there are no 'no's.

Cheers man, thanks for playing. Leafcutters get Statue of Liberty from the beginning, if you want a head start.

If you have any ideas at all, keep 'em comming.

ok, slowly working my way through Catfish's chcklist. Why are there red and green lines seperating my units instead of just nice green ones in my bmp, and is that why the units don't show up in the game...

So, without, or with, help from the amazing people that have come before and helped without question... this is going to be the first Civ " scenario with moving icons.

I know it's been tried, b/c it's so cool, and it's possible, b/c it was done in TOT. I think it hasn't been done, b/c I'm sure I'be played every top scenario by every top designer for the last five years.

So, as soon as we're done with the irritating little green and red lines thing, we're on to moving ants.

      I'm not kidding.

        Jrec,

        Sorry,

Original tech tree is not seperate for each tribe; closest we got was a unique unit for most of the species at 'exotic ants', and an initial unique ant.

Some of the end techs were a bit contrived, and this scenario, like every civ game with the sole exception of civ II original, has been a bit less intuitive than the original. There is room for improvement.
