Good to see your interest, AiC. Now we just need India and NATO.

Just a cheeky idea that could help keep the pace of the game. How about a small - point penalty for delays in playing your turn?
This would not apply if you tell the other players you will be unavailable. You could deduct -1 point (or -5 points or whatever) for every day of absence. I know RL often messes with people but I am sure most people could post a message saying they are unavailable even if they do not have time to play their turn!

The reason I say this it that I have been reading through the posts from the previous First Strike game and as well as lots of arguement there were lots of LONG delays. I would probably find this unbearable!

Just an idea, what do you good people think?

Just as you guys know, there will be a game running paralell of this over here: http://www.civforum.de/showthread.php?t=42525

We have discussed some minor adjustments to house rules that you might want to implement here as well. And if you should need any assistance, I am only a PM away!

@Werd: We'll have to put that to a vote. Personally, I think it's a bit harsh, which puts us at a standing of 1-1.

@Eivind: Thanks for the support! We'll certainly contact you if we have any questions.

That's cool, let the people decide. It is quite possible I have more time on my hands to play games and more responsible/busy people would be the ones who get penalized. I would just find waiting 6-7 days + to play a turn, because someone forgot, intolerable!

We have an official 48 hours rule in the pbem community in general, but strive to keep it under as far as possible. Whenever people go over the 48 hour rule, players do get ancious, and will if the person in question do not notify of any hold up's, pass the civ to more responsible players. That's how things work in practice. I am willing to stand as a guarantist in such case, unless anyone else wishes to play it permanently.

EmuGod has agreed to play India, so I'll start the game tonight or tomorrow.
