          Norwich shares tiles with almost all cities in GB.

            What are those horizontal green lines? You ballsed up the cut-and-paste job (1 pixel too high) when you replaced Curt's roads with those for the visually impaired?

              Most of you got the first part right and battosai aced both parts.

              In Dictator VI, the Greenwich Meridian runs between London and Norwich. Norwich, Paris and Orleans have x-coords of 0,1 or 2 while those of Newcastle, Swansea, London, Nantes and Bordeaux range between 284 and 287. The minor problems that the 'seam' causes may explain why, in most cases, it is put in mid-ocean.

              @Curt & Case
              I don't like to squint to see where I'm going [ big, white, straight roads ] or to survey what I have conquered [ lovely, visible, red German pixels on the world map ].
              And many thanks for the tip on how to fix the the road icons.

              Gentlemen, take a bow for your efforts. Hope you had a bit of fun.

                No one remembers anything these days!

                Obviously, if you use misaligned road graphics, cities share squares. Merc once wrote a utility called CivMrcash (Misaligned Road City Areas Sharer or uncompressed version) that exploits this well-known cheat. The location of all these generous cities along the meridian is pure coincidence.

                  I really appreciate the links you posted but they may both be corrupted. No matter how often I tried, what I got was some dude singing C & W rather than a utility download.

                  Fortunately, I found a copy of Merc's CivMrcash utility squirreled away on my old Commodore 87, and have installed it in both my MGE and TOT main folders. From what I can tell from a quick look at the Readme, Merc's utility is guaranteed to solve all cash flow problems.

                  Of course, you are absolutely right about the cause of square sharing. Please disregard my blather about the Greenwich meridian.

                      Merc has clearly learned the value of intercontinental trade. Commodore 87.

                      Since my links are corrupting, I'll let you upload yours to the new CivJunction downloads section.

                          Thanks for those links Boco, because I think I misplaced my own copy.

                          Too bad I lost the next version I was working on, CivMrcash&carry, Misaligned Road City Areas Sharer & City and Road Realignment utilitY. That allowed you to either purposely misalign your graphics to create this bug, or re-align the graphics to undo it again.
