  • Moderator Election Time!

    Hi there, everyone!

I am opening a thread to inform you all that my fellow mod, Harry Tuttle is moving on from his current
moderator post, as he has growing responsibilities outside of the online life. I think we can all agree
he has been a very fine staff member...His tireless work on the SL Great Library thread and the CIV2
source code are very noticiable legacies of his tenure.

After speaking to Harry and DanQ, we have agreed to have an election for the upcoming place of moderator.
The election will be hosted here in CIV2 forums, and run for one week. The candidates have been selected,
and will be put into a poll for you all to cast votes for. Once a week has passed, we will tally the votes.

I will notify DanQ of the person with the most votes, and the mighty lords of Apolyton will do the rest.

Alternatively, if a candidate wishes to drop out of the election, let us know. And if the whole forum
wishes to decide as one upon a single candidate before the election has ran the course, I will take
that into account too. The main goal here is to be fair and elect the moderator with the blessing of
the people here on CIV2 scenario creation forums.

The shortlist for moderator status are as follows:

    Arthedain
    AGRICOLA
    Boco
    Exile
    fairline
    techumseh

So come together and cast your vote!
    12
    Arthedain
    66.67%
    8
    Boco
    33.33%
    4

    The poll is expired.

As a nominee I feel honored.
Indeed Harry did a great job, and it shouldn't be too hard to find a replacement. Let the voting begin!

Thanks friend, but after years of watching good moderators here and at CFC, it is obvious to me that I lack the personalty needed to be a good one. My fuse is too short and I have about as much tact and diplomacy as a hungry barracuda.

So, could you please scratch my name from the poll and I will happily vote early and vote often for every one of the excellent candidates.

            @Everyone:

By their own requests, AGRICOLA and Exile are no longer
in the election race, so please vote for one of the others.

My vote goes to Arthedain, in my opinion an over qualified moderator! Nordic solidarity, Martin!

Thanks for the nomination, Curt, but I have to decline. Been there, done that, as they say.

And many thanks to Harry. He's been an active and congenial mod. I look forward to more of his creative scenarios in future.

                      As you request, tech!

Looks like the race is becoming narrower!

If the three voters for tech come forward with alternate
choices I shall re-assign the votes for tech between the
                      three candidates!

I do not know how much time I am going to be able to afford for Civ2 - nevertheless my vote shall be cast as well.

Boco, you should be the man

Well we've heard from most of the nominee's so far. Fairline, Boco, do either of you fine gentlemen have any thoughts or comments to make regarding your nominations here?

I'm also curious if Harry has any thoughts on the nominations this year as outgoing mod.
