    Great advice, Cyrion...!

That event really makes the civs fight like wildcats.

What on earth ever made you think using that option was a good idea? It's not an option that magically makes the AI better-suited to WWII scenarios. It's a big unknown set of changes specifically for the WWII scenario that came with Civ2. Don't ever use it (not until we've figured out what it does anyway).

I suppose civ2units was right in the assumption then that one of the changes this option makes is making the light blue civ act "neutral". Or did you actually know that already, civ2units?

You might not even need the ModifyReputation event.

        Whatever possessed me?

It was one of those little tweaks that was added early on,
but proved to have huge ramifications later on...! I have
learned a valuable lesson about barb cities and how the
AI loves to attack them...A useful thing to remember!

I don´t actually know it, but I remember when playing the original scenario in the late 90s (I´ve Civ2 since 1998) that the lightblue Civ never attacks any cities. Also they didn´t build some really war units.

So I think that the special WWII AI setting makes the lightblue Civ to a neutral Nation, which represent in the scenario.

Because I don´t really know the effect of that options, I never used it.
