This is how the stats have been for a long time and you've played in PBEMs with these stats. Dario conquered the world as the axis, showing that it doesn't hinder annexation that badly. Units in this scen have high hitpoints, making fighting more interesting and less units are needed.

Old 2194s undermined infantry, but this version saw a great improvement in infantry. Stalingrad is a good example of infantry being very effective and long lasting. Trust me, if soviet units are hard to kill for you, think about how hard it will be to kill axis units.. Just play on and you will see.

EDIT: And also, having units which are harder to kill forces the player to make important strategic decisions rather than just blasting everything you see, because you are confident of its success. Please Alejandro, play on. 2194 has always proved to be lots of fun

        re:

each scen has his own tricks to be exploited etc, test a lot and you will find them.

ahhh, may be you refer to the first version 1.0. yes that version every single unit destroy whatever,.

and yes mikko has a point here. your units are also hard to kill.

about transport: nazi germany will get the transport tech once you get London, (triggered via event).

good luck. you have played this scenario before, 2 years ago, i remember. and you did good, you against pablostuka if i'm not wrong.

Just remember: Dario won his first PBEM with this scenario version. Can't be too hard, can it? It also got like 9.8 points in the scenario league.

Yeah, sure, take your time. I think we all will take a bit of time on SP to get in touch with the scen and strategies!

                Hmm.

Actually, I would be very interested in playing the China/USA combo, so if people (mostly Nilat) would like to play a "normal" game of 2194 v2, I'd like to take them.

Patine, could you please include a list of losses and units destroyed in your future posts?

                          China:

The dragon is determined to defend her country to the last man. Not an inch of Chinese ground shall be given up to the Japanese menace, and every man, woman and child shall bravely stand their ground in the face of the enemy onslaught.

This month our glorious air force could, with minimal losses, shoot down a Japanese bomber.

We hope that our American friends will soon send us help so that we may bring the yellow menace to an appropriately harsh end.

                          Units destroyed: 1 Betty bomber.

                          Losses: 1 generic fighter.

                          USA:

To the Congress of the United States:

Yesterday, December 7, 1941 -- a date which will live in infamy -- the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan.

The United States was at peace with that Nation and, at the solicitation of Japan, was still in conversation with its Government and its Emperor looking toward the maintenance of peace in the Pacific. Indeed, one hour after Japanese air squadrons had commenced bombing in Oahu, the Japanese Ambassador to the United States and his colleague delivered to the Secretary of State of form reply to a recent American message. While this reply stated that it seemed useless to continue the existing diplomatic negotiations, it contained no threat or hint of war or armed attack.

It will be recorded that the distance of Hawaii from Japan makes it obvious that the attack was deliberately planned many days or even weeks ago. During the intervening time the Japanese Government had deliberately sought to deceive the United States by false statements and expressions of hope for continued peace.

The attack yesterday on the Hawaiian Islands has caused severe damage to American naval and military forces. Very many American lives have been lost. In addition American ships have been reported torpedoed on the high seas between San Francisco and Honolulu.

Yesterday the Japanese Government also launched an attack against Malaya.

Last night Japanese forces attacked Hong Kong.

Last night Japanese forces attacked Guam.

Last night Japanese forces attacked the Philippine Islands.

Last night the Japanese attacked Midway Island.

Japan has, therefore, undertaken a surprise offensive extending throughout the Pacific area. The facts of yesterday speak for themselves. The people of the United States have already formed their opinions and well understand the implications to the very life and safety of our Nation.

As Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Navy I have directed that all measures be taken for our defense.

Always will we remember the character of the onslaught against us.

No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the American people in their righteous might will win through to absolute victory.

I believe I interpret the will of the Congress and of the people when I assert that we will not only defend ourselves to the uttermost but will make very certain that this form of treachery shall never endanger us again.

Hostilities exist. There is no blinking at the fact that our people, our territory, and our interests are in grave danger.

With confidence in our armed forces -- with the unbounded determination of our people -- we will gain the inevitable triumph -- so help us God.

I ask that the Congress declare that since the unprovoked and dastardly attack by Japan on Sunday, December seventh, a state of war has existed between the United States and the Japanese Empire.

                          Franklin D. Roosevelt

The White House, December 8, 1941

                          The battle of Honolulu

Even now considered to be the most disastrous blunder in the history of modern warfare, the battle of Honolulu turned out to be a major disaster for the Nihon Kaigun.

After the dastardly attack on Pearl Harbor, the Japanese BBs ordered to protect the retreat of the aircraft carriers at all costs instead rushed into the mayhem only to find the very much unharmed cannons of US BBs spewing cold steal on them. The cruiser and destroyer groups which were supposed to provide anti-aircraft fire also rushed into their demise alongside the BBs.

The carriers, now without any protection were easy game for all the US navy to enjoy.

                          Zuikaku - SUNK

Overall, it was a disaster for the Japanese navy, and the US admiralty is confident that this was the first in a chain of humiliating defeats for the Japs at the hands of the mighty US navy.

                          Japanese losses:

                          2 battleships
                          1 A6M Zero
                          3 cruisers
                          6 carriers
                          5 destroyers
                          4 D3A Val

                          US losses:

                          1 battleship
                          1 submarine

                          The battle of Wake Island

Sadly the marines were not within reach of Wake Island, else it could have been recovered from the clutches of the Japanese as the garrison there was caught off-guard and annihilated by a wing of SBDs.

                          Japanese losses:

                          2 marines
                          1 SNLF

                          The battle of the Atlantic

In order to properly help Britain, the US has to first clear the Atlantic of the German submarines which infest the eastern fringes.

To achieve this end, a great extermination operation has been started, and from now on German submarines will be hunted mercilessly.

                          German losses:

                          1 submarine

                            Enemy submarine at 73, 33.

And please do a sweep for submarines around the little island on 92, 8 diagonally from Scotland.
