Right. All of the above responses are good to know and I may have found another use for the impassable terrain!
What I am struggling with is how to make terrain impassable! Is there a setting that can make (for example) swamps into impassable terrain?
Im sure I have missed something really basic but I cannot work this out. My copy of ToT did not have a manual if that is any kind of excuse.

Is it the last yes/no flag in a line of basic terrain?
The only issue IIRC is that impassable terrain is not selective: If unit A can travel on impassable terrain X, it can also travel on impassable terrain Y.Last edited by Michael Daumen; February 7, 2007, 16:54."You give a guy a crown and it goes straight to his head."

You set it in each @Terrain section.* It's the last item: between the transform setting and any comments (e.g. ;Drt). Accepts "yes" or "no". I don't know if it's case-sensitive, but it wouldn't surprise me. Go forth and block away!

Thanks guys, I was not looking hard enough. The bit above that explains what the different terrain settings do does not mention impassable terrain.
In future I will not trust this and I will check thoroughly for myself.
And I want ho try to learn hex-editing. HA!
