  • I'm bored.

I might have some time over the holidays to start a new scenario. Any suggestions?

I posted something similar to the following idea a while ago on another thread:

    GAIA

By 2060, the world's population is 10+ billion and there is continual conflict over oil, food, water and all other diminishing resources. The soil and oceans are producing ever less food. Global warming due to rampant pollution is causing ongoing, rapid changes in the world's climate.

To win, a player must reduce the global population to less than 2 billion, end and clean up pollution, reforest and stop global warming.

This would certainly make the ultimate bloodlust scen.

I suggest maybe an early Dark Ages scenario where there's Goths, Franks, Anglo-Saxons, Norse, Byzantines, Persians, and maybe early Moslems (with everyone else being barbs), and you struggle for dominance in the ashes of Rome with isolated small cities and a largely agrarian base. Discovering knighthood and siege tactics would offer huge benefits. Just an idea I'd like to see done, but don't have the vivo to do myself.

An Attila the Hun scenario, where the Roman player must stop
the downfall of the Empire and the start of the Dark ages?

And the Huns must build a new Hun/Frank empire?

Since I am very frustrated with my unfinished WW1 scenario I recently thought about making another one. Maybe one of these thoughts help you.

              - Migration Period / 'Justinian the Great' Remake
The scenario is still fun but it would benefit from a new map, new graphics and ToT events

              - Charlemagne
Fight the Lombards, Saracens, Byzantine as well as pagan Saxons, Norsemen, Slavs, Avars... and become Father of Europe along the way

              - Sub-Roman Britain
Roman Britons, Celtic and Pictish Tribes and Anglo-Saxons fight for dominance. This could be either historical or fictional (Arthur, Merlin, Camelot... )

              - The Rise of the Ottoman Empire (1326-1566)
Begin with a small Turkish kingdom that declared independence from the Seljuk Empire just 27 years ago and become a world power!

A scenario which covers the Eastern Front of WW1 would be very interesting, though it would be a challenge to model within Civ 2.

An alternative history scenario based on "Resistance: Fall of Man"* could be interesting. Sort of a Red Front Scenario, the first period could last 20-24 turns researching techs and building up your defenses and then defending Europe from a Chimerian invasion.

*Although going by the screenshots and movieclips the game itself reminds me of a WW2 version of DukeNukem.

Perhaps a small scale SP tactical scenario would be good. How about Operation Entebbe, where terrorists hijacked an Air France flight to Uganda and a resuce operation saved almost all with only one casualty? The goal would be to use the units you start off with to storm the airport, kill the terrorists and save the hostages as quickly as possible, and while taking as little casualties as possible.

Personally I have been wanting to do a Fulda Gap scenario set in either 1968, 1975, or 1980 somethin. The problem is with my job I no longer have the time to work on units much less an entire scenario. Plus I wouldn't even know where to begin.
