I played Bitterfrost II at some length, and although I found it to be very well made and lots of fun, I didn't know what I was supposed to be doing, exactly. Maybe I'm just a bit overcompetetive, but I like to know what constitutes a win. I'd like to see version 3 have more specific victory conditions.

Excellent! I'd like some extra background info, though. What happened to bitterfrost & the iron kingdoms?"Whoever thinks freely, thinks well"

The old world was on the verge of being conquered, so the Imperion done something drastic...
All will be revealed in the readme, it will have background info and a rundown of the civs.
The object of the scenario is really to destroy all rivals and build an unchallenged empire.
When you are safe beyond all forms of threat, then you have won...! If the Brotherhood
and Dreadful Alliance are both destroyed utterly...That also counts as a definite win.
Defeat the Dreadful Alliance and gain the Arch of Victory (Cure for Cancer) +1 Happy Citizen
Defeat the Brotherhood and gain the Crown of Honour (J. S. Bach's Cathedral) +2 Less Unhappy Citizens
Keep an eye on events too, they give some clues to a few quests and targets.

Excellent work on the scenario Curt. I have to say that I'm having a good time playing. No comments as of yet, everything seems to be running just fine. I love the graphics and I even like the sound effects, all very new and crisp. I'm having trouble keeping my men alive, but that's exploration for you. Good work.

Still testing (well, to be honest, more playing than testing.... )
One thing is sure: the "one more turn syndrom" (yeah, I know, I focalize a bit too much on this, but it's so Civ 2...) has been achieved!Ankh-Morpork, we have an orangutan...

Funny that you say so, because I had a football game this morning and I had a little less sleep than expected because of you...
But all is well, as my years didn't show too much anyway...Ankh-Morpork, we have an orangutan...

No worries, mate!
I play as the Stavark, sending vans to the Daargan (even if, from time to time, they try to betray me: I need their gold and beakers...). and expanding slowly upon the Foes!
Oh, and building all the above mentioned Wonders, so that I can get as many heroes as possible! (probably comes from my RPG years...)Ankh-Morpork, we have an orangutan...
