    well before playing.
i was playstesting a little about this.
and i would like to fix two more things on rules:

1- what do you think about mikko's propposal. i agree if that only applies to france or canada, as he stated.

2- what if we make cheaper the sea transport!! currently it costs 200 shields. too way expensive for me,
it's quite more expensive than a destroyer!!!!
as it only can carry two units and move 12 squares,
i'd suggest to reduce the price to, may be 80 or 100???

can we reach to a good agreement on those points?
    thanks.

Agree with 1, don't agree with 2 either.. WW1 is not famous for its massive large scale trans-ocean troop movements and amphibious landings.

EDIT: Dario, could you please edit the rules to make French Infantry (1914) and Canadian Infantry buildable, please?

          RE:

-Woodrow Wilson was killed. then elections were called.
Dario Republicano was voted as the new leader of the CSA.
As i'm ruling the south, i must be a republican.

          foreign policy:

-USA (Alejandro Democrata??? ). we want peace right now. you??

-We are allied with the Entente and Russia,
regarding the war at europe. we are neutral, we don't have any kind of militar resource to do nothing there. so, atm there is neutrality.

about transport: nothing was changed as you wanted people!

@mikko: i sent you the new rules.txt with your request.

Erm.. Dario.. This is a total war scenario.. WW1? If you have ever played this in SP you would find that an event shows that Franz Ferdinand has been killed and the world is in war.

Let me tell you why you should be in war:

              1. Austria Hungary attacks Belgrade, Serbia, a Russian ally and Russia declares war on AH.
              2. Germany declares war on Russia because Austria-Hungary is their ally
              3. The Entente declares war on Germany and Austria Hungary as they have declared war on their ally
              4. U.S.A declares war on the Entente and Russia because they have attacked their allies: Germany and Austria-Hungary
              5. Now you come in: The C.S.A declares war on the U.S.A and the Central Powers because they declared war on the Entente and Russia

We are allied with the Entente and Russia
If you are allied with us you have to follow your obligations of being allied with us and declaring war on our enemies. If you do not, you are out of the alliance. If you do that, I am leaving this PBEM. I joined this PBEM for an alternate World War One not some pansy unrealistic World Peace One.

              EDIT: Thanks for the rules.

                    @To Academia:

Alejandro, according to what Mikko said.... i don't understand nothing.
i'm not forced to do nothing via events. (checked events ). Also i saw that i was at peace with some nations (included you), so it came to my mind that this scenario is based on some diplomacy first, instead of total war at the beggining!!!

so should i do what mikko said????
if so, alejandro, choose one of those options.

a- do not attack me this turn, i didn't know about that. go and make a defensive movement.

b- if not, let me replay my turn. to make a good turn in order yo receive your attack.

                    sorry for the inconveniences.

Dario, this scenario is total war. Hence the name: WW1: Walk in Hell. The civ2 side is wrong, we are all at war:

Entente, CSA and Russia VS Central Powers, Ottoman Empire and U.S.A.

I understand why you thought this could be a diplomacy scen, but it is not. This has been designed for war from the beginning. This is exactly like World War One. It starts in 1914 for the same reasons as before, except for one additional country: C.S.A. Think about this scen as WW1 including an American Civil War a bit late

                      EDIT:
                      Turtledove, Harry. American Front.

The Great War #1. Sequel to How Few Remain. When WW1 engulfs Europe, the United States and the Confederate States, still bitter enemies after the Civil War, enter the frey on opposing sides.

I didn't attack anyone yet, cuz I see the scenario for the first time and needed to look around. If we had to be at war, I suppose we should have been already at the beginning of the scenario, but I had peace with all nations.

If you wish I attack someone (for the sake of sticking to the real history), I will, please say whom.

Hasn't anybody except me and Alejandro looked what this scenario is about? This is a bit annoying.. If you join a PBEM that says WW1 in the beginning and begins in 1914 and on SP (assuming you try out the scen on SP before PBEM..) the first event tells that Duke Franz Ferdinand has been killed and bla bla, you should know the story.

I repeat, this is WW1 with one minor change: CSA. This means this is plain ol' WW1 which began in 1914 when Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia which started the domino-effect and got every major power into war. This effect is supposed to happen when the Central Powers attack the Entente (due to the civ2 engine), but apparently it did not this time.

I am sorry to be ranting like this but the inefficiency is just so frustrating! You do not have to attack in the first turn, but you are in war.

                            This is the event:
The Boston Globe, 29th June, 1914
Archduke dies in Sarajevo! Bomb blast kills Franz Ferdinand and his
wife! Austria threatens war on Serbia!^
President Roosevelt stated in Philadelphia yesterday that the United
States, as a member of the Austro-German Alliance, will meet all
commitments required by treaty, whatever the consequences, saying,
"A nation at war with one member of the alliance is at war with every member."

In Richmond, Confederate President Wilson spoke in opposition of the
oppression of small nations by larger ones, and confirmed that the Confederate States are and shall remain part of the Quadruple Entente.
and this is from the introduction of the scenario:

                            SITUATION DESCRIPTION
When the Great War engulfed Europe in 1914, the United States and
the Confederate States of America, bitter enemies for five decades,
entered the fray on opposite sides: the United States aligned with
the newly strong Germany, while the Confederacy joined forces with
their longtime allies, Britain and France. But it soon became clear
to both sides that this fight would be different - that war itself
would never be the same again. For this was to be a protracted, global
conflict waged with new and chillingly efficient innovations - the
machine gun, the airplane, poison gas, and trench warfare.
                            %
                            DIPLOMACY
As this is intended to be a PBEM ('play by e-mail') scenario the
diplomacy options have not been disabled. The scenario kicks off
with all powers but Italy already involved in the war.
                            Italy is
quite weak so the Italian leader shall try to get as good a bargain
                            for entering the war ...

Ok, understood. Next turn I will expect attack of or will attack Central Powers, Ottomans, and USA.

However, I truly don't know what you and other players can use (what units) to attack. Cavalry is weak, infantry is purely defensive, also there are trench lines and a fortress unit, also Walls cost only 20 shields. The only attacking units are artillery which are quite expensive (long to produce). I expect this war to be a very positional one (attacks will be very local, and any gained territory will be filled again with defensive units).

i played a previous version of this scen, where all the powers started with war status, but in this version i guessed we 'could' change a little of this.

                                anyhow, i wait academia's response.
