    Sorry, Rebel, I made the barracks deliberately expensive, to avoid an unrealistic veteran army.

      i second rebel´s comment... without trade, it´s extremely difficult for russia to build anything.
      1,000 gold per turn isn´t enough... at least, that´s my first impression after had played a few turns.

      if having a veteran army is unrealistic, i also think that denying trade to russia is also unrealistic.

      anyway, it´s your scenario; it´s your choice.

        Check out this pbem on how I have handled Russia. I am now the most powerful nation in the world. But anyway this 2 units per transporter works in Russia's favour anyway. And what you're saying is not unrealistic - Russia didn't export anything.

          ok, you base your position on the way a player managed a country.
          different players, different ways of using a civ.

          and if russia didn´t export anything, every single ww2 scenario ever created for civ2 is wrong then.

          but as i said before, it´s your scenario. i know you won´t make up your mind. nevertheless, i have to express my point of view. that´s all.

            The German players are very capable. But I've managed to build up the biggest army in the world, outnumbering Britain with over 70 units, I have build several barracks and Heavy Industries. Only area I'm falling behind is on techs. Much as in real life Russia is numerical superior, but not technological. I know that Russia has great potential if you play them to their full extent. 1000 gold is not that far off when you see how much (or should I say little) trade Rebel is cashing in.

            And I understand and I respect everyone's opinion. Just on certain fields I'm rigid and clear on how I want my scenarios to work - this is one of them.

            Your turn btw

                        @Patine:
                        You got some explanation to do. There are massive numbers of Japanese war ships off it's ports in open ocean. Please retreat them immediately or this will be regarded as an offensive move against our Pacific interests, and we will send out our Pacific fleet to neutralize the threat.

                          @Dario:
                          Last warning, you're blocking the road from NY to Boston.

                          Also, you forgot to open the road (from where you gave me permission to land) to Frankfurt.

                            1- unblock some kind of square next to NY then, reserve me one.

                            2- this turn i'm moving my units to unclean your road to frankfurt. anyways you couldn't reach it in this turn (you landed on a forest terrain).

                              Eivind, I build a mine on Grassland near Hong Kong but instead of +3 shields it gives none, what happened? I hardly need those shields since Hong Kong has production 0

                                @Rebel:
                                Mining of Grassland only works on grassland with shield. In this scenario shielded grassland is represented by a farm. that means that the square left of HK won't yield any shields. Sorry, but that's the way the game machine works.
