Is there a legit No-CD patch for Civ2 MGE?

The thing is, I have acquired this game legally, both Civ2 vanilla and Civ2 MGE. Civ2 vanilla doesn't 'require' the CD for playing, it will just ask for it but go without it if it must. MGE on the other hand requires the CD for starting.

Now the problem I have is my CD drive is broken and won't always load the CD. So sometimes the game will thnik there's no Cd and will not fire up. A no CD patch / crack would come in handy. Anything out there?

Well, I don't think no-CD patches are ever legal. But it's a bit of a grey area. You can find one on among the Civ2 downloads on CivFanatics in any case.
