How can i set a terrain to "impassable"(for ToT)?

There is no such flag in the rules.txt.

; Transform = Terrain type engineers can transform to

; bonus = # extra production from that change

The ToT rules.txt files are a little silly. Some of them have more comments than others. I usually open the rules.txt of all the different games (Original, Extended, Sci-fi, Fantasy and Midgard) to see what they say. I don't think all of them are interesting, but I always forget which ones contain what extra information.

While we're discussing this, does this mean that all scenarios can make use of the terraform flag under the Advanced Unit options in the Sci-fi rules?

Ehm... regular Civ has got terraforming in, I don't know why it wouldn't be availiable in other versions...

You mean the "engineer flag" in field G of @UNITS_ADVANCED? Otherwise I don't know what you mean.

But whichever the case, really, of course you can use the option. If you couldn't change something it wouldn't be in the rules in the first place.

The engineer flag in the 'G' field is missing in the Original ToT rules text file. It is in the sci-fi game, and you can just add it to the one you're working with.

                ; G) General flags
                ; 00000001 invisible until attack: 1 - invisible
                ; 00000010 non-disbandable (human players only): 1 - cannot disband
                ; 00000100 0-range-air-unit damage override: 1 - override damage
                ; 00001000 barbarian units can't be bought off: 1 - can't buy off
; 00010000 impassable terrain override: 1 - override impassable terrain
                ; 00100000 engineer capabilities flag: 1 - has abilities
; 01000000 barbarian unit will not expire: 1 - no expire
; 10000000 override .SPR file for this unit: 1 - don't use .SPR

Danke, I wasn't sure whether it was hard-coded into the Sci-fi game or not.

A small tip: the unit in the engineer slot has engineer capabilities if it has a '0' in the appropriate field, and loses them if it is given a '1'. This is the reverse of all other units.
