Unique infantry for the Koreas, China, US, UK, Canada, Australia, Ethiopia, and the other countries with their own units in the UN forces, plus a generic 'UN Volunteers' unit for the rest. I think I can use generic artillery and naval units, and Chris made me a great South Korean Cavalry for the early part of the war. If I'm forgetting anything big, let me know.
The Crusader was last used as a gun tank in the desert in '42-43, although an AA conversion was used in Normandy. It was long since retired by the Korean War. The MBT of the British was the Centurion, while some Comets, Churchills and Cromwells were also used. The US used Chaffees, Pershings, M4A3E8's and in the latter stages, Pattons. The Koreans and Chinese used only T-34/85s and SU-76's I think; the KV-1 was long out of service. I think the Chinese had JS-2's and JSU-152's as well but they didn't see action.

Well, my Great Uncle must have said Meteor or Mustang and been referring to the Aussies (he was in the Royal Canadian Army, but was guarding an air strip when he mentioned these aircraft). Anyway, are there any Sea Furies and Fireflies out there, perchance? I don't recall seeing any, but I could have missed them. On another note, I've considered the capture of key cities and turn numbers as the main unit spawning triggers for the UN, but a few techs may spawn some too. I thought they'd appear on the edge part of Japan in the map's corner so the North Koreans can't block their landing, and then they'd just ferry across the Tsushima Strait. The Chinese would also receive unit spawning, but mostly on a turn basis after they were triggered.

I might have a go at the Sea Fury as it's my favourite piston engined aircraft....

I haven't posted this before I think; the Centurion Mk I was the WW2 variant, but the one you're after is the Centurion Mk 3 with the larger turret

A closer read of my book shows that the Chinese also operated the WW2 vintage La-9 fighter and the Tu-2 light bomber.

How are we for MiG-15s and other sov-bloc early jet fighter units?

Some of fairline's British infantry, modified for Korea. Usable .bmp below.

                @ Gareth: Centurion btw

Those Brit infantry and that Centurion look great, actually! As for MiG-15's and other Soviet-made jets (and even other planes), it doesn't look to good currentlly. I have a MiG-15 from Kashanka's Vietnam War units, but it's quite Nemo-esque. Chris made a Tu-6 for me based on a picture of a MiG-15 (the two were nearly identical in appearance from a distance), and he might be able to reverse engineer one from that. As for the more vintage propeller Red planes, I honestly haven't seen any of them, even as far back as Nemo. Here's the Nemo-esque MiG-15, if anyone can use it.

And here's Chris' Tu-6, which looks very similar, and is for ToT.

Cool, Curt! That looks great! Now we just need a few piston-driven Soviet aircraft like those listed above (Il-10, Yak-9P, La-9, and Tu-2), as well as some of the obscure US or British planes.

Here's your Sea Fury and it's direct ancestors, the WW2 Typhoon and Tempest.

When you're designing this scenario you'll need to bear this in mind: the RN Sea Furies were used exclusively in the ground attack and anti-shipping/submarine roles in Korea. Mind you, they were the fastest piston-engined fighters ever made, and were rugged and well-armed; one even claimed a MiG-15 kill.

They should be given bomber stats with enough defence against fighters to cause them some bother.

Thanks greatly, fairline! I'll keep your advice on their use in mind, too? Given their name, I assume they were mostly carrier-based; is that right?
