You'll only find the ç before a, o and u, since it's used to turn a k sound into an s sound. In French, just like in English, the c is normally pronounced like an s before e and i and like a k before a, o and u. Remember: "kasesikoku".

Help me with some trivia and earn virtual fame and fortune! There was a French newspaper published in Cairo during the British era called Le Bosphore Egyptien. What's it mean and why might it be named that? They rarely missed an opportunity to identify shortcomings in the British rule of Egypt.
Btw, apparently Egypt has an unusually rich newspaper tradition for the region: La Presse écrite francophone en Egypte.Comment

Now I can't help you with that: Bosphore has no meaning in french (as far as I know), except as the Bosphorus, the strait linking the Black Sea with the Marmara Sea...Help me with some trivia and earn virtual fame and fortune! Bosphore égyptien could be a synonym for the Bab-el-Mandeb strait or the Suez Canal.
If it doesn't stand for something geographical it could mean anything.

You might be right: it could well mean a reference to the Suez canal, which is nothing but an artificial strait, and as such could be named an Egyptian Bosphorus!

Thanks for the detective work Cyrion. I suspected a geographic parallel, but had no idea of the original source.
Mes amis (sp?), could you please proofread the attached French? The 3rd line is supposed to be a byline (no date is possible, only location).
The dialog title is supposed to reflect that Octave is trapped in the Club Sportif as well. This will be changed once the cricketeers have weighed in.
And yes, I know it's the wrong flag.
I may need to rename and redraw Manhattan.
