Civilization II Ultimate Classic Collection - no CD patch?

I'm really worried about using the CD all the time... I've only got another older copy of Civ2, but it works fine when loading Civilization II Ultimate Classic Collection (even though it's a much lower version).

Is there a no CD patch anywhere?

Any CD with a Civ2 folder on it will work, I believe.

But yes, there's a no-CD patch. You can find it at civfanatics.com.

If you can, burn copies of MGE and TOT, and store them with the other family heirlooms.

It's an inexepensive way to protect the valuable source CD's.

Direct copies of CIV2 work fine, I use burned versions to keep my originals in good condition.

ok - My copy of TOT installs, but it doesn't seem to run when i insert the CD... is there a crack for this also?
