The hints will get you past every major obstacle. As I note at the beginning of the game, the "messages" are critical. If they say that Odysseus has to "JUMP", think of that in the context of what JUMP means in Civ2. More than a few folks have had a tough time with the in-game messages, only to read the hints and then slap themselves in the forehead!

One of my favorite parts of the whole scenario comes at the beginning of Chapter 3 when the wave of black sweeps across the screen. A unique Civ2 moment.

From what I understand of that Civ game of yours, it's all about launching one's own spaceship before the others do. So this is no big news after all: my father just beat you all to the stars once more. - Philippe Baise

This ANTS scenario; didn't get much play by many, but the game engine works even better for the microscopic world than the human-global-political world. Admit that it's mine, but simply recommend playing...

Biru Biru: is it for ToT or MGE or FW?

You've reminded me that I was supposed to play it.
I can't, again, because my computer system broke and I can only play the games that work with 16 colour settings (fortunatelly Civ1 is one of them), I'd love to play it when I'm done with that problem, though.

ANTs is for MGE. After a big halloween and project at work, I am starting to play it again myself.

On my computer there is a problem with diplomat functions and nukes not working, although they used to work perfectly and the scenario was complete. If someone does dust it off, I'd be interested to know if these options are working for other computers.

I've been playing ants quite a bit the last couple weeks. it's still very difficult to beat, but I just had my first single-nest victory. The ease of terraforming allows a single city to grow quite large, even without the use of food caravans, and to be competetive with even 20-nest+ species. Also, spies are working again; they fixed themselves somehow.

                  cheers!
