    RJM, I can verify, from a game soon after I started playing, that it's possible to crash spaceships from three different civs in order to squeak out a win.
    Can you comment on the question as to whether it is possible to bring back 2 spaceships from the same civ?

      You can't sell your palace!
      Building another in a different city causes the original palace to vanish (without trace or recompense)

        ... and allowing the AI to build one spaceship is careless - two is downright sloppy!

          what if any is the effect of capturing an AI capital while their ship is building, but before launch?

            If they don't move the capital, the message "XXXX (civ name) spaceship destroyed" appears and all their existing spaceship construction is lost.

            I have had a couple tense moments this way - I take the capital, spaceship is destroyed, and then they restart construction sans capital...

            (Not being careless - just playing on gigamaps with handicaps. )

                I may confirm : I had the same experience.
                But I never saw two launching by the same civ.
                (If I catch a Capital to destroy a space ship, it's to assure my own launching).
