  • My First Scenario Posted - Refurbished

Here's the first scenario I ever posted on 'Poly, shortly after signing up for the forums, nicely refurbished by the dedicated work of Steph (jim panse) and, by proxy, those whose signatures are on those new units. The original was an eyesore with vanilla, CiC, and FW graphics, with a few Net ones of the time, in an unappealing mix. It's a pretty simple, down-and-dirty Mexican Revolution scen, but was an early one. See what you think of the revision!

I noticed in my playtests, and Steph says he noticed in his, that it's suicide to play the Mexican Revolutionaries, yet they're one of the two reccommended players. Try this version, where I've improved Mexican Infantry and Cavalry (as well as the generic artillery). I've also increased ALL units' moves, as I didn't take the scale of the map into account when I first made this.

I like the design of this one!

I will download it for sure when I get back from work.

Been in a real mood for Napoleonic historical CIV2 lately!

That might be a good reason, Cyrion ... forgive me.

            Anyone else - download it

Before you all go and download that one, it's not fully updated. Here's the updated version, though it's still got a bug I can't fix. I set all infantry to a move of 2, but New Spain's can only move 1, even though the rules.txt, Civilopedia, and Units Editor all say it can move 2. If anyone can fix that, please let me know. Otherwise, with that in mind, try this one out.

I'll check that out in a few hours when I get home...

I wonder what could cause that glitch...? Is this a FW-made scen?

It may be worth resaving it in MGE format.

@Curt: I don't think it's FW. Even so, it's been saved several times run by MGE to this point anyways. I don't know if that's enough. I wonder what this glytch could be. It's confounded both me and Steph so far.

Pas de sweat. Newly created NS Inf can move 2.

The units in the scen file must have been created when the units had Mv=1. This value is saved in the unit movement parameter for each unit in the units file and updated each turn. If the scen is started and 1 turn completed, all NS Inf have 2 moves on the next turn.

To fix it would require hex editing every NS Inf in .scn file. Not worth it because the problem corrects itself.

Money is not the root of all evil, it is the root of great empires.
