  • Harlan's Mongol scenario

Am I right in thinking I saw a ToT version of Harlan's Mongol scenario, or have I been drinking too much Buckfast / cleaning fluid lately?

I looked on the Cradle site but couldn't find it, if it exists.

Yes, I have it. It's in the queue. Do you want to help with it?

Yes indeed - can you mail it to me please.

I'll start making up units as soon as I've finished the cities for Justinian - the Hagia Sofia is ready but the rest need to be started.

Then play the Civ2 version. Mongols may be the best Civ2 scenario of all time.

You no longer have any other Civ2 version?

Are you converting the last version (3.1), by the way?

Yes, the one I converted was off of the Spanish CivII Site.

Would you mind posting it here or in the ToT conversion thread Alex, then I can start the units. Thanks

EDIT: Scratch that - I've got it

So even though you say you really want to play a Mongol scenario, you actually can already play it, but you decide not to and wait for a conversion? What kind of a Civ2 fan are you?!

No Merc, you're wrong. Once you've "converted" to ToT, you don't want to go back. All we need to do is convert the best scenarios, and there's no reason to play regular Civ2 anymore.

Well, sure, ToT is better in most aspects. It's certainly the way to go for further creations etc. But that doesn't mean you should be ignoring the old versions just for the sake of sticking to ToT, should you?

So if you suddenly feel the urge to play a scenario that hasn't been converted yet, you won't play it until you've converted it?

Of course, converting might only take minutes. But then curtsibling could just have converted it himself and started playing minutes later. But it seems conversions also mean upgrading graphics, and that takes a while. So in the mean time you're not playing a scenario you could be playing just fine.

I'll let Curt speak for himself, but I personally don't use MGE anymore - except to check out new scenarios, as you say. In general though, the better new scenarios are being made for Test of Time.
