  • Alternate graphics for John Ellis' Boneparte

Eivind requested that I post these graphics files for John Ellis's superb Boneparte scenario. They were drawn with the latest FW single player version in mind, and obviously shouldn't be used with the ToT conversion Catfish has posted recently. The terrain files are largely FW-ised versions of Catfish's ToT graphics, while the cities are by Curt. BTW, these are not authorised in any way by John Ellis, so I'd appreciate it if they weren't reposted elsewhere. I'll try and get his OK for ToT versions I plan to make.

EDIT: Here's a link to John's site where you can find both single- and multi-player versions of the scenario:

EDIT #2 Oops -there was an errant Union Jack attached to one of the Hurrars; this fresh version fixes that. There was also a problem with the flags on some of the cities - also fixed in the zip below.

The zip contains the complete gfx set with units, cities and terrain. I'll work on some people for the ToT version.

EDIT: Fixed units and cities glitches. Here's a new zip:

      PS
If someone could post a link to Boneparte for this thread too, it would rule!

Great graphics! Where can I find the SP version these graphics are intended for? I can only find the MP version.

Edit: it's not the version on SLeague

Now we can explore our Napoleonic megalomania fully!

It is one of the best eras for war...No tanks or planes, just cannon, strategy and steel!

Another Civ II classic gets the Fairline touch! Good job indeed. I just have one small minute note of absolutely no consequence to make. The British city style whose wonderful elements were indeed designed and released as the early industrial style in the last year are indeed the work of Mr. Sibling. This particular assembly of buildings and parliament however was a mod job done by myself for the yet to be released "World of Jules Verne".

Like I said it doesn't matter either way and they certainly do fit in the game wonderfully.

In my opinion some of your best infantries yet, Gareth! I just love the colourful uniforms of the Napoleonic Wars. Absolutely amazing work!

                    Thanks for sharing!

I have to say Gareth from the position of a shield maker and admirer that you have without a doubt the best ability for making symbols for shields and flags that I've ever seen my friend.

Be it the symbol of the US Marine Corps or the Russian Royal Eagle, its amazing the amount of detail you can fit into a 13 x 10 pixel frame .

The iron cross is a traditionally tough symbol to make in CIV's limited pixel medium...

But it looks great on that grenadier on the top row!

                              Very nice units!

...however, I must confess that I prefer the 'old' Boney graphics in the scenario. Those multi-unit graphics look really good IMO and contribute to the scenario's unique atmosphere (which is perfected by John's excellent work in modeling the dynamics of Napoleonic era warfare).
