A nice fresh new Europe map, with multimaps of the USA,
the Eurasian steppes and the Pacific would do the trick!

This is definitely a project for the new year!

Tech handles all the phsyical files himself Gareth, he just sends me the graphic files and manages the rest of the game files on his own. I was always under the impresion we weren't looking to alter those game files, but if you think any scenario would be in need of a text file update he would be the one to speak with.... not I .

Now as for these alternate Bonaparte graphics Gareth.... where can one find them? Have they been made available or are they still under lock and key? I'm also curious why it is Bonaparte can't be converted to the ToT platform.... I'm positive that in the year 2005 we could find a solution to whatever the problem is.

We're playing a PBEM of Bonaparte over at evo ( http://www.evo-games.net/Home/viewto...?p=26146#26146 ), and I'd love to play see you alternate units file for it!

The only thing that comes to me is the lack of 3 point objective cities in ToT. Oh, and the fact that airbases do not function like railroads. Is it something arcane in Game.txt?

I think it must be something in a text file somewhere, Boco. Has anyone tried running just the scn. file, with standard ToT files?

I can try that tonight. In fact, I think I will.

UPDATE: Sorry guys, but it gives me the same problem. For some reason, it allows you to play as the British, and then cycle through each civ one at a time, but when you try to play any kind of a normal game, it crashes. I have already purged every single x3 objective flag I could find using FW, but the game still crashes.

x3 objective flags do NOT cause crashes.

Maybe the scenario simply uses some strange settings that CivConverter doesn't deal with properly?

Despite Angelo Scotto's comments in the CivConverter readme file, the crash bug that afflicts Bonaparte II and 2194 Days of War is not related to the presence of x3 objective flags. It's caused by a corrupt table at the end of each block of tribe variables in the .scn file. All converted scenarios suffer from the problem; it's just that most can cope with the garbage data without crashing. Surprisingly, it didn't take me long to isolate the problem once I started looking. I'll post the details in this thread later.

Wow!! Thats some pretty good news there Catfish. Lets hope that with this new found solution at hand the graphic updating of Bonaparte and other problem conversion scenario's can now move forward .

A bit of hyperbole maybe – but I won't argue.

I'm curious, there was allot of discussion on the previous page about scenario's that could be updated using Curt's new ancient city styles. What scenario's exactly were in mind for these updates?

Update: Kull's Ancient Empires 3500bc is ready to go as soon as I receive an Egyptian city from Curt. Brown Man's Burden is ready to go - I'm hoping to hear from Carl Fritz, the original author before uploading it. I've attached my Amazon unit (all female guards of an African King) as a teaser - most of the outstanding units are by Sarsstock though. And Justinain the Great will be ready as soon as I get the new cities from Fairline and Sarsstock.

Sarsrtock is working on graphics for Pitt's War at Sea and Jesus Munoz's World War One. Nemo's American Civil War is also in the queue.

Uh-Oh, I'd better get moving. Looks like you guys are catching up.

@Catfish: I am having the same difficulty with the Four Seas Republic (by Hanti). Would you mind looking at its table as well?
