Thanks Agricola. I wondered why discovering Barbarossa didn't cause me to be at war with the USSR

Hi chaps!
Just back from Hamburg and the Wacken Open Air festival,
but I now have noticed that one evil bug got through! Ack!
Well spotted, fellows - I will fix this issue soon.
All the major powers should be able to field engineers...
The rules advanced line should be:
01111110, 00000000,-1, 0000000000000000,0000000000000000,0000000000000000 , 10000000 ;Engineers
I will post a fixed rules up at evo tomorrow, as I need a sleep now!
I might even do a patch with some new Brit cities I am making!

No, I was playing with the latest events. Also, I was able to attack the Soviets. A British engineer is created in Nazi controlled Europe once you discover Barbarossa, and you kill it to trigger the invasion of Russia."I'm a guy - I take everything seriously except other people's emotions"

Welcome back from the Wacken Open Ear festival.
While you are doctoring Rules, could you also give a little consideration to increasing the D of B-17's from 2 to 3. The B-17 has proved to be anything but a Flying Fortress, completely unable to attack or defend against Bf-109's and FW-190's. The Lancaster with its D=4 (IMO, not deserved unless it can operate at night with all kinds of navigational aids) is a much more formidable opponent.
Also, it might simplify things a bit if you could merge the Improve 1 & 2 zip files with the latest Improvement file to eliminate the many .bmp files which clutter up the folder.
I'll be damned if I can figure out where Kugelregen gets his P-51 long range escort popup. It definitely is not in the latest Events. However, I recall seeing it in an earlier version of DICTATOR TOT.Excerpts from the Manual of the Civilization Fanatic :

Curt: Great Scenario! (you managed to get me to re-install TOT for this one )
I've noticed a couple of minor bugs:
The AI quite cheerfully uses it's transports as attack vessels. A quick look at Rules.txt shows that you've set the role for transport to "0" (attack) rather than "4" (naval transport).
I also get the P-51 popup when discovering Advanced Railroads (I'm playing as the Americans).Libraries are state sanctioned, so they're technically engaged in privateering. - Felch
I thought we're trying to have a serious discussion? It says serious in the thread title!- Al. B. Sure

Thanks, it is indeed in Game.
The popup was fine when the P-51 was the second unit in the units table and Engineers were the first. When the unit positions are reversed, it still appears when the tech for the second unit is discovered. From that, I would expect that the popup is linked to the tech for the second unit, rather than to a specific tech.Last edited by AGRICOLA; August 9, 2005, 12:33.Excerpts from the Manual of the Civilization Fanatic :

I really wish i had TOT. I downloaded it anyway. Mostly, I just look at it sitting on my desktop though.
(Also, if anyone knows where a back-up of TOT files might be stored on the net...)
Anyway, very much looking forward to playingAnts. An MGE scenario

Though I'm sure you've been asked and have answered this question before Curt, what was the source you used for the fantastic icons in the improvment graphics? Did you ink and or composit them yourself or did you download them from another source?
