    • Though this question, doesn't relate to the hopefully soon to be released 19thC. units, but is there anyone out there who is working on TOT/Updated units for: Eivind IV's MAFIA ??

      • Recently I've been working on a "Service Police" set, which chronicles the evolution of the Pre-Unification Royal Canadian Navy, Canadian Army, and Royal Canadian Air Force.

Here are my first cut and paste creations:
        RCN Naval Police:
        Ship's Corporal(Petty Officer)
        Master at Arms(Chief Petty Officer)

Historical Note: Between 1910 and 1920, Canadian Naval Police were appointed on board major RCN ships such as Niobe and Rainbow.

Someone should make a new Mexican war scenario...(or update an old one!)

                  • The unit compilation process is still rumbling along ever so slowly. Hopefully the first MGE compilations should be ready in the not too distant future.

this is a great compilation! however there are some small inacuracies: Baden and Württemberg flags are inaccurate, Württemberg had no Garde du Corps (this is complicated), it would have been much better to make a Jäger zu Pferd unit who were more numerous. Saxony in addition also has a Garde du Corps (i figured you didn't had all possible units per country).
in addition, it would be nice to see Dutch and Italian units under Napoleonic rule. it would also be nice to have French Carabiniers in the light blue uniform + Cuirass, maybe more variants of Cossacks and Russian Guard & Horse Jäger.

Thanks for the comments Tiemuzhen. Being a stickler for detail myself , can you let me know what's wrong with the Baden and Würtemberg flags, and I'll fix 'em.

All the sources I used (Funcken, Ebner, Knoetel) have plates for Würtemberg Garde du Corps, so are you sure they didn't exist?

You're right: they're lots of other troop types I haven't included regarding the Saxon GdC. I wanted to have light, medium and heavy cav for most nations, so I only included one of each type for the Confederation of the Rhine troops.

I have Dutch, Neopolitan, Kgdm of Italy, Bonapartist Spanish troops; they just aren't posted.

Baden flag is yellow-red-yellow (no cross, this was perhaps a regimental flag?), Württemberg has black over red, this black over yellow that you used is from the modern federal state of Baden-Württemberg and combines colours of both states.

as for the Württemberg garde du Corps, this is a complicated story. Württemberg has a Guard Cavalry Regiment of four squadrons. the first squadron being the Garde Jäger, the second being the Garde du Corps and the last two being Horse Grenadiers. all three types have unique parade uniforms, those of the Garde du Corps is the one you have depicted. however, as for war-time service, all squadrons were ordered to wear the uniform of the Horse Grenadiers (the uniform of the Guard Jäger remaining green however but this is only a minor detail). so the regiment would have a standardized appearance on the battlefield. but, and here's the next twist, the Guard Cavalry Regiment would only serve in war with the king of Württemberg and as we know he never took the field in person so this regiment, incl. the GdC never saw any actual combat.

i hope my description was useful for your understanding of the Württemberg Army. if you have more questions about organization and units please ask.

and thanks for your efforts in making those wonderful units. sometimes however it is difficult getting heavy and light cavalry for each nations as often those small states were too poor to have a large and diverse army like the big players. btw only France had the categorioes of heavy, medium and light, most other countries only made a difference bewteen heavy and light cavalry.
