Thanks CapTVK, I think that with only minor modifications, this will do nicely!!

And Smiley: those cities are, once again, amazing!

            Magnitka is incredible!

Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness. A more modest, realistic, and achievable goal is to encourage the idea that one may be mistaken. Doubt is humbling and constructive; it leads to rational thought in weighing alternatives and fully reexamining options, and it opens unlimited vistas.

There will be one more set of five to round out the 5x5 grid, which represents, depending on which way one reads the grid, the five stages of Communist and Capitalist theories of economic development.

This set will represent the preindustrial Renaissance/Enlightenment era, from 1400s to 1800s. Currently working on concept sketches.

Glad I could be of of help. In the meantime I've found an excellent source of inspiration for Roman architecture....Goscinny's and Uderzo's Asterix!

You will find the files under "your freeciv install path"/data/"tilesetname", so fx the isotrident gfx is under data/isotrident/

You can read more about tilesets here:

It's very flexible so it might be a bit confusing at first, althought just modifying existing tilesets should be pretty straightforward.
